adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Strolch has found a home! His story: The little Strolch was found in the vicinity of Cluj and brought to our animal shelters. Since the capacities of the shelter are more than full, he initially came to a foster home in Romania. From there, the little man was allowed to travel to Germany to another foster home. But even here, he should not stay too long, but find his "Susi," or better yet, his own family as quickly as possible. Strolch lives up to his name. The little scruffy is full of energy, but is always friendly towards his people and dog buddies. Unfortunately, his past can only be speculated about. However, Strolch is very friendly towards people and also at the vet, he wagged his tail over every person. Age-wise, Strolch is still very playful and lively. He is likely in the middle of puberty and is testing both his own limits and the boundaries of his people. Therefore, one should be aware that leash walking, being alone, and house training and other things are still foreign concepts to the male dog. That's why we are looking for people who can accompany Strolch through the upcoming time with love and consistency and forgive him the occasional mishap. At the beginning, a positively working dog training class can be a good support. Strolch currently weighs 10 kg and will likely stay around that size. Strolch travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. He brings his EU pet passport and can be adopted by someone who will give him a warm and loving home where he can finally fully belong. Many thanks, Becky! You named Strolch! Date: 12.04.

Vielen Dank Becky! Du hast Strolch seinen Namen geschenkt! Stand: 12.04.2025

About Strolch

What life with Strolch looks like

Strolch is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Strolch, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Strolch?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Strolch on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Strolch if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Strolch already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Strolch isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Strolch and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
