adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Stromer has found a home! His story: 06256 Frankleben, Germany. Stromer recently made it to a foster home in Germany and is learning everything. In his pack, he has quickly integrated and adapted. He shows himself to be an open and self-assured young one. He is social towards people and fellow animals. Of course, he is still very playful and clumsy, falling over while running because his legs are not yet as fast as he would like. Once he has built trust, he will not leave your side. Stromer also has a calm and laid-back nature and knows that there can be times of rest. The Puppy ABC, as well as house training, are already being practiced diligently. He has also quickly learned leash walking. His behavior towards cats has not yet been tested, but this should not be a problem with the right introduction. The currently approximately 4-month-old male dog is expected to reach a medium size when fully grown. The little man is looking for a family that will stick through thick and thin with him and with whom he can still experience many exciting adventures. We are sure that Stromer will fill the lives of his new owners with love and joy very quickly. His new family should also be aware that Stromer does not yet know life in a loving family. He still needs to learn the whole Puppy ABC and puberty is still ahead of him. Here, he needs people who can approach with much love and patience, and possibly also attend some positively working dog training classes with him and forgive him one or two mishaps. Leash walking, house training, and being alone are still foreign words to him. During puberty, he will certainly test boundaries and perhaps relearn some things. But once this phase is overcome, Stromer will definitely be a great life partner. We hope so much that he can now experience the beautiful sides of life and learn that there are people who only want the best for him. Stromer is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. He brings an EU pet passport and can be adopted after a positive foster home experience. We would be very happy to have a foster home for the sweet boy! Who will give him a loving forever home? Many thanks to Steffie! You gave Stromer his name. Status: 06.05.

Vielen Dank an Steffie! Du hast Stromer seinen Namen geschenkt. About Stromer

What life with Stromer looks like

Stromer is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Stromer, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Stromer?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Stromer on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Stromer if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Stromer already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Stromer isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Stromer and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
