Generalities: microchipped and vaccinated, mixed-breed dog, border collie/wolf-like mix, black coat with white socks and a white muzzle, and two ears in the shape of a satellite dish. Character: Svelto is a young and reactive dog who has unfortunately had few experiences, which makes him cautious towards anything he does not know, including people and dogs, whom he tends to bark at when he meets them. However, if approached in the right way, it is relatively easy to enter his circle of trust. On a leash, he tends to pull strongly when encountering attractive stimuli. He is used to wearing a harness and may also wear a muzzle if necessary. He is following a program with a dog trainer and behaviorist and a group of experienced volunteers to prepare him as best as possible for a future adoption. He loves long walks in the green and running freely in the enclosures of our dog shelter. Ideal adoption: For Svelto we are looking for young and active people with experience in dogs, preferably knowledgeable about the characteristics of the border collie breed. It is necessary to have the possibility to dedicate him a lot of time to satisfy his need for movement and to ensure his balanced growth by giving him a large number of positive experiences, as well as a living environment that is not too chaotic. He will need a short pre-adoption placement in the dog shelter and to continue the work started even at home, preferably under the supervision of a dog trainer and behaviorist, without being discouraged by any difficulties. No children. No cats. Okay with other dogs, after a compatibility test carried out in the dog shelter under the supervision of one of our experienced staff members. Okay for apartment living, or if there is a garden, use it only for family activities, do not leave him outside alone as this could reinforce incorrect behaviors such as barking. Generalità: Microchippato e vaccinato, meticcio incrocio border collie/ lupoide, pelo nero con zampine e bavaglino bianco e due orecchie a mo’ di parabola. Carattere: Svelto è un cane giovane e reattivo che ha fatto purtroppo poche esperienze e questo lo porta ad essere diffidente verso tutto ciò che non conosce, comprese persone e cani a cui tende ad abbaiare contro quando li incontra. Se approcciato nel giusto modo si riesce però abbastanza facilmente ad entrare nella sua cerchia di fiducia. Al guinzaglio tende a tirare molto se incontra degli stimoli attrattivi. Abituato ad indossare la pettorina e se l’occasione lo richiede anche la museruola. Sta seguendo un percorso con un educatore cinofilo e un gruppo di volontari esperti per prepararlo al meglio per una futura adozione. Adora fare lunghe passeggiate nel verde e correre libero per i recinti del nostro canile. Adozione ideale: Per Svelto cerchiamo persone giovani e attive con esperienza di cani meglio ancora conoscitori delle caratteristiche della razza border collie. Necessaria la possibilità di dedicargli molto tempo per soddisfare il suo bisogno di movimento e per garantirgli una crescita equilibrata facendogli fare un grande numero di esperienze positive oltre che un contesto abitativo poco caotico. Necessiteraà di un breve percorso pre-affido in canile e di continuare il lavoro impostato anche a casa meglio se sotto supervisione di un educatore cinofilo non scoraggiandosi davanti ad eventuali difficoltà. No bambini. No gatti. Ok altri cani previo prova di compatibilità da effettuare in canile sotto la supervisione di un nostro operatore esperto. Ok vita in appartamento, o in caso ci sia un giardino utilizzarlo solo per fare attività con la famiglia, non lasciarlo fuori da solo perchè si rischierebbe di rinforzare comportamenti sbagliati come l’abbaio.
