Adopt SZAJEK

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Adult · 5 years

Year of birth: 2021 SZAJEK is looking for a home – will you help him believe in a better world? SZAJEK is a medium-sized fluffy dog who underwent a great transformation at the animal shelter. When he arrived, life in the kennel run was a terrifying reality for him. The first days were full of fear, making him react aggressively – barking, snarling, and trying to scare everyone around him. But that's all in the past! Today, SZAJEK is a completely different dog. He has calmed down, trusted people, and... he's waiting for a walk! He loves being petted – he even comes up and holds his bottom out, asking for more. In the forest, he's alert – sometimes he barks at other dogs or some people – but that's nothing he can't handle. SZAJEK is smart and eager to learn, especially when treats are involved – so he's an excellent candidate for further training. We're looking for Szajk a responsible home that will give him time, support, and patience. He's already shown how much he can change when someone trusts him. Now it's your turn – give him a chance at a new life, and in return, you'll gain a loyal friend. Meet Szajk, fall in love with his ears, and see for yourself that it's worth it!

Dziś Szajek to zupełnie inny pies.

About SZAJEK

What life with SZAJEK looks like

SZAJEK is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Zielonej Górze in Zielona Góra.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting SZAJEK, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about SZAJEK?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Zielonej Górze handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw SZAJEK on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt SZAJEK if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Zielonej Górze will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is SZAJEK already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if SZAJEK isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Zielonej Górze early rather than rehoming privately; they know SZAJEK and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
