Taro May 30, 2026 Taro May 30, 2026 6 Taro May 30, 2026 12 Taro May 30, 2026 2 Taro May 30, 2026 11 May 30, 2026 The majestic Taro celebrated his 4th birthday on May 18th and is currently in the best age for a boxer. Unfortunately, his owner's circumstances have drastically changed, so the beloved male dog is now searching for a new – forever – home. Our energetic young boxer puppy has a real zest for life. Taro gladly plays the typical clown, is extremely friendly, open, and interested in everything. Lovingly raised, Taro knows basic commands. Boxer-like, Taro can be quite stormy on the leash. We are looking for active, adventure-loving, and steady people who will challenge and nurture Taro both physically and mentally. The handsome boxer is very people-oriented, always wants to be in the middle of things, and proximity and contact are very important to him. At his owner's, he was always allowed to sleep in the bed. Although Taro doesn't know children from his previous home, he likes them very much. However, due to his temperament, children should be quite steady. A respectful and responsible handling of dogs is of course assumed. So far, Taro has lived as a solo prince. He is generally well-tempered with other dogs, although very young and/or energetic fellow animals can irritate him… We can imagine a calm female dog by his side. Taro does not like cats or small pets. Taro is happy to go on tours with you and accompany you quietly in the car. After the adjustment period, Taro can also be content alone for a suitable amount of time. The handsome boxer would feel more comfortable in a rural setting or a small-town outskirts with a garden, but the usual environmental stimuli are no problem for Taro. Waiting for you is a cheerful boxer who wants to explore the world with you full of energy. About Taro

What life with Taro looks like

Taro is a adult dog waiting at Boxer Nothilfe Deutschland in Hiddenhausen.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Taro, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Taro?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Boxer Nothilfe Deutschland handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Taro on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Taro if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Boxer Nothilfe Deutschland will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Taro already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Taro isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Boxer Nothilfe Deutschland early rather than rehoming privately; they know Taro and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
