Tea

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 10 months

Tea is a spayed mixed-breed female dog born in November 2025, who was found as a puppy on the street in a neighboring town with her mother Tammy and her siblings Tino, Tina, Tony, and Tessa, and brought to the Serbian animal shelter in Svilos. Tea is a lively and cheerful dog who is very attached to people. She enjoys petting and the proximity of her caregivers. Tea's heart beats especially for toys. While she is naturally happy with a treat, a great toy is even more interesting to her. She runs enthusiastically after the thrown toys and shows how much she enjoys playing together. It is particularly nice that Tea already almost perfectly retrieves and brings her toy back to the hand almost reliably. Tea also gets along well with her fellow dogs. She loves the company of other dogs and plays joyfully and happily with them. Her behavior towards cats and other animals is unknown to us. We wish Tea people who enjoy taking an active and playful dog into their lives. She wants not only to be loved and pampered, but also to be occupied and promoted. Tea would certainly be excited about joint walks, varied activities, games, and small tasks where she can use her head. The dog's shoulder height is 49 cm and she weighs about 18 kg.

About Tea

What life with Tea looks like

Tea is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Animal Care Hungary.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tea, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tea?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Care Hungary handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tea on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tea if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Care Hungary will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tea already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tea isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Care Hungary early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tea and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
