adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Teddy is a lively, very positive, friendly male dog who loves and wants to please people. He wishes for a lot of attention, cuddles, and a meaningful mental stimulation, like nose work. Teddy is approximately 50 cm tall and weighs around 25 kg. He is likely a German Shepherd mix. With his loyal eyes, he looks forward to the future with hopeful anticipation. The handsome fellow is in his best dog years at around 4.5 years old. The difficult time of puberty is behind him, and his character has already solidified. Teddy gets along well with other animals. Whether he knows cats, we do not know. In the shelter, Teddy suffered a double leg fracture. This was initially operated on in Romania and had to be corrected by a follow-up operation in a German specialist clinic. To build up after the operation, he received physiotherapy. Since his sutures on the operated leg are currently a bit loose, an orthosis is now being created for him to support him during walks. Teddy is already house-trained. After recovery and adjustment, he would be happy to attend a positively working dog training class, which would also strengthen his bond to his new people. Teddy is now searching for his very own family, which will accompany him with patience and empathy in his remaining recovery process with moderate walks. In his new family, larger, stable children can already live. His home should ideally be in a rural or suburban setting, on one level, and have a garden. An only dog can be, but does not have to be, present. Are you the person who wants to experience many exciting adventures with the clever Teddy? Then contact us. Teddy can move into his new home with an EU pet passport neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. We thank you warmly for the name sponsor Alcesta V., who chose Teddy's name. Many thanks to Lena Buhla! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! About Teddy

What life with Teddy looks like

Teddy is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Teddy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Teddy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Teddy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Teddy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Teddy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Teddy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Teddy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
