THANGO – 4 ans – ♂

Mixed Breed · Male

Hello, I'm Thango! I'm a 4-year-old Australian Shepherd, intelligent and very affectionate. I'm a dog very close to my family, a true cuddle enthusiast. And if you're lucky enough to win my trust, I might show you my backside for a good scratching session! At home, I'm clean, calm and easy-going. I can stay alone for about two hours without any particular difficulty. I'm not a big fan of toys. On the other hand, I love learning! I'm particularly receptive and have already started enriching my repertoire with learning like "bed" or "check". I understand quickly and I really enjoy working with my humans. I can be a bit anxious when approaching certain resources, especially my food bowl, so you'll need to continue respecting my space and working on exchanges. Before arriving at the association, I knew nothing about the outside world. Today, I'm discovering the city and it's quite a change! Passers-by, bicycles, joggers, children, the movements around me represent a lot of information to manage, when the stimuli accumulate, I can quickly find myself overwhelmed. With other dogs, I'm very interested in my fellow canines, but I still lack serenity during meetings. When I see a dog, I can have trouble giving up. It's already happened to me to calm down once in contact, but for now my canine encounters are selected with caution. Despite these difficulties, I'm a dog who learns quickly and shows a real ability to adapt. In just a few weeks, I've already made great progress in an environment that was completely unknown to me. For my future adoption, I'm looking for experienced, patient and committed people, able to understand my difficulties and continue the work already started. A calm environment, ideally in the countryside and humans who understand me, able to accept me as I am today, while accompanying me. I'm looking for humans who will take the time to understand and respect my fears so that I finally feel at home.

About THANGO – 4 ans – ♂

What life with THANGO – 4 ans – ♂ looks like

THANGO – 4 ans – ♂ is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Association Ron'Rhône in Lyon.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Frequently asked

Adopting THANGO – 4 ans – ♂, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about THANGO – 4 ans – ♂?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Association Ron'Rhône handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw THANGO – 4 ans – ♂ on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt THANGO – 4 ans – ♂ if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Association Ron'Rhône will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is THANGO – 4 ans – ♂ already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if THANGO – 4 ans – ♂ isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Association Ron'Rhône early rather than rehoming privately; they know THANGO – 4 ans – ♂ and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
