adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Thanos, who is called Shiro in his foster home, has definitively arrived at his foster home. He enjoys being brushed and is beginning to enjoy more and more cuddles. Now that he has also discovered the sofa, he often lies right next to his people there. He shares his dog bed comfortably with the other first-time dogs. Recently, two kittens with their tails tucked in have joined. Shiro observes them attentively and is gently guided on how to behave towards them so that all can learn to live peacefully together and form friendships. Shiro’s trust must grow slowly and steadily. He is not yet ready to wear a collar, so outdoor walks are not yet possible. Shiro still looks content, appreciates the comfort, security, and harmony in his foster home, is not averse to treats, and closely observes what his people do. The strategy of staying in his safety zone was almost the only option available to Thanos in his shelter years, because if the delicate male dog had not been so averse to people, he would not have spent three years there. Due to permanent staff shortages at the public shelter in Baia Mare, he was largely left to his own devices during all these years, as unfortunately no one there has the time to build trust with a soul that has had bad or even just lacking experiences with people. Therefore, Thanos could not make any progress or learn new behaviors there. He therefore preferred to play it safe by avoiding direct contact. Thanks to his foster home, a new chapter of his life has finally been opened, and we are sure that Thanos can enjoy a normal family dog life with continued trust-building and positive reinforcement in not too distant future. With his approximately 6 years and a height of approximately 46 cm, his delicate appearance is charming to behold: his bright, soft fur, his black almond eyes, and the small, darker whiskers are simply love at first sight. Thanos is now on the lookout for his own home, for the people who want to share their life with him. If Thanos has captured your heart and you want to accompany him on his journey to a life without fear, then contact us. Thanos is waiting for his Forever People who will help him open up further and further so that he can also learn what it feels like to lead an unburdened, happy dog life. He needs sensitive owners who enjoy training with him and exploring how to overcome his fears. A garden would be a dream for him, a place where he can play and explore the world. Other dogs can be present in his home. Thanos is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. After a positive EU pet passport, he will bring it with him. Many thanks to Alexandra L.! You support Thanos with a monthly sponsorship! As of 24.02.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank Alexandra L.! Du unterstützt Thanos mit einer monatlichen Patenschaft! About Thanos

What life with Thanos looks like

Thanos is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Thanos, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Thanos?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Thanos on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Thanos if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Thanos already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Thanos isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Thanos and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
