Why Ingrid is still at the animal shelter remains a mystery to all of us. She has nearly everything one could wish for in a dog: She’s a calm companion, loves food, is house-trained, travels well in the car, gets along fine with other dogs—and surely with cats too—and can even stay home alone without any trouble. Initially, she’s reserved and shy around people, so it’s understandable that she’s not yet ready to cuddle. But don’t we all need a little time to build trust with others? So why isn’t there anyone out there who’d like to give Ingrid this precious time to build up her trust? When you look into her eyes, you see a gentle soul that’s already been through a lot and endured much sorrow. Her mistrust toward humans is certainly justified; yet slowly but surely, it would be wonderful if she could find that one special person who’d help her overcome even the last remnants of doubt. We’re convinced: Whoever makes an effort to earn Ingrid’s trust will gain a loyal friend! Besides her calm nature—something from which we humans could learn so much—Ingrid also has two delightfully amusing, heartwarming little quirks: First, she grumbles softly and incredibly charmingly to herself whenever something doesn’t suit her; and second, she’s famous at the shelter for her funny “food dance,” which she performs every single time food is served. When it comes to food, Ingrid forgets everything around her—the uncertainty, the shyness, any hint of doubt or skepticism—all of it becomes utterly irrelevant as soon as she sees food! Warum Ingrid noch im Tierheim ist, ist uns allen ein Rätsel. Sie bringt nahezu alles mit, was man sich von einem Hund wünschen kann. Sie ist eine ruhige Wegbegleiterin, liebt Essen, ist stubenrein, fährt gut im Auto mit, ist verträglich mit Hunden und sicher auch mit Katzen und kann auch mal alleine bleiben. Uns Menschen gegenüber ist sie erstmal zurückhaltend und schüchtern, sodass sie verständlicherweise auch erstmal nicht kuscheln möchte. Aber geht es uns nicht auch so, dass wir einen Moment brauchen bis wir Vertrauen zu anderen Menschen aufgebaut haben? Warum findet sich also niemand, der Ingrid diese Zeit des Vertrauensaufbaus schenken möchte? Blickt man ihr in die Augen, sieht man eine zarte Seele, die schon viel mitgemacht und einiges an Kummer ertragen hat. Ihr Misstrauen dem Menschen gegenüber ist sicher gerechtfertigt; doch langsam wäre es einfach schön, wenn sie den einen Menschen finden würde, der ihr dabei hilft, auch noch die letzten Zweifel auszuräumen. Wir sind überzeugt: Wer sich um Ingrids Vertrauen bemüht, bekommt eine loyale Freundin! Neben ihrer ruhigen Art, von der wir Menschen noch viel lernen können, hat Ingrid auch noch zwei sehr amüsante, herzerwärmende kleine Marotten: Zum Einen grummelt sie unglaublich charmant leise vor sich hin, wenn ihr etwas nicht passt, und zum anderen ist sie im Tierheim bekannt für ihren lustigen Futter-Tanz, den sie immer „aufführt“, sobald es Essen gibt. Geht es um Essen, vergisst Ingrid alles um sich herum - Ihre Unsicherheit, Ihre Schüchternheit, jegliche Form von Zweifel oder Skepsis - alles wird belanglos, sobald sie Futter sieht!
