Thor was dropped off with us for private reasons. The 8-year-old male dog is very friendly and people-oriented. He is selective in his compatibility with female dogs. Thor has also lived with other dogs before. However, an adoption as a second dog still needs to be individually checked. On the leash, the imposing male dog shows a poor response to many environmental stimuli and pulls especially hard on the leash during dog encounters. Therefore, his adopters must be physically capable of handling him. Besides the lack of leash manners, Thor does have a certain level of basic obedience, and he is also easily motivated with food. According to his previous owners, Thor can unfortunately not be left alone, as he then barks a lot and becomes very stressed. It would therefore be good if, for example, a family member works from home or if Thor could go to work with them. Cats or small pets should not be in the household or at least be housed in a way that Thor cannot reach them. If you are interested in one of our dogs, please contact us preferably by email. Describe in the email how the dog will live with you and send us a phone number. Then, a member of our animal shelter staff will contact you. Thor wurde aus privaten Gründen bei uns abgegeben. Der 8-jährige Rüde ist sehr freundlich und menschenbezogen. Mit Hündinnen ist er selektiv verträglich. Thor hat wohl auch schon mit anderen Hunden zusammengelebt. Eine Eignung als Zweithund muss trotzdem immer individuell geprüft werden. An der Leine zeigt sich der imposante Rüde bei vielen Umweltreizen schlecht ansprechbar und zieht v.a. bei Hundebegegnungen dann auch stark an der Leine. Seine Übernehmer müssen ihm also unbedingt kräftemäßig gewachsen sein. Neben der mangelhaften Leinenführigkeit besitzt Thor aber einen gewissen Grundgehorsam, außerdem ist er gut mit Futter motivierbar. Laut seiner Vorbesitzerin kann Thor leider nur schlecht alleine bleiben, er jault dann viel und ist sehr gestresst. Gut wäre es daher, wenn z.B. eine Person in der Familie im Home Office arbeitet oder Thor mit zur Arbeit nehmen könnte. Katzen oder Kleintiere sollten sich nicht im Haushalt befinden oder zumindest so untergebracht sein, dass Thor sie nicht erreichen kann.
