Tilda

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Tilda is a young, energetic and slightly eccentric cat, which often gets her into trouble with the other cats, but she doesn't mind ;-) Tilda craves all the attention for herself and is looking for a home with outdoor access without any feline companions. She loves people and actively seeks their company. Due to her quirky nature, children in the household should be used to "trouble", but this shouldn't be an obstacle to adoption. Unlike cats, friendly dogs would not be a problem. However, these dogs should already know how to behave around cats, as Tilda needs time to warm up and will initially hiss and take her time building trust. Please send us an email with information and photos about the future cat's living situation or leave a message on our answering machine. We would be happy to arrange an appointment for you to meet our cats and discuss possible setup options. In a personal conversation, we will address your needs and those of the individual animal, and find the best possible human-cat match with you.

About Tilda

What life with Tilda looks like

Tilda is a small adult mixed breed cat waiting at Tierschutzverein Minden e.V. in Minden.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tilda, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tilda?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Minden e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tilda on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tilda if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Minden e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tilda already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tilda isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Minden e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tilda and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
