Adopt Tilmann

adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Tilmann has found a home! His story: Klausenburg, Romania. Dream Beagle Tilmann seeks a heart and a purpose. With his enthusiastic personality and the motto "better in the middle of it than just along for the ride," our affable energy bundle is looking for a home that shares his adventure spirit and welcomes him as the special heart of the family he is. Tilmann already had an owner who, however, did not meet his needs and ultimately decided to leave him behind when he moved. Currently, he is in a Romanian foster home where he lives problem-free with other dogs and even cats. With people, Tilmann shows himself to be a friendly and sociable fellow. At around 4 years old, this passionate little running machine still has plenty of life in him, just as a true Beagle should. Typical for the Beagle is his curiosity, playful nature, independence, and intelligence. Occasionally, a certain stubbornness may show, which can be best appeased with delicious treats. But Beagles are primarily known for their keen sense of smell, with which they are always on the hunt. For this reason, we want to place Tilmann in the hands of connoisseurs who know how to challenge him both physically and mentally and give him the opportunity to live out his instincts. We also recommend that his new dog parents consider enrolling him in a good dog training class, as surely Tilmann still has a lot to learn and internalize from the extensive dog ABC. Regular cuddle times should also be planned into Tilmann's daily routine, as he presents himself as an absolute family dog and a charming charmer. Tilmann is a medium-sized dog weighing about 20 kg. He is characterized by short legs and a robust build. However, he currently needs to lose a little weight. Tilmann likes to eat everything he finds and therefore has about 1-2 kg too much on his ribs. His short, tri-colored coat, the prominent, hanging ears, and the particularly noticeable white tip of the tail make him a visual attraction. We would be delighted if the right people would soon take notice of the wonderful Tilmann, so that after a successful stay in the foster home, he would be neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas, and in possession of an EU pet passport. Who could imagine sharing their life and perhaps even their sofa with Tilmann? A foster home would also be a wonderful opportunity for him. The nametag for Tilmann has been taken over by the loving Silvie S. Many thanks for that!

About Tilmann

What life with Tilmann looks like

Tilmann is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tilmann, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tilmann?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tilmann on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tilmann if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tilmann already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tilmann isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tilmann and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
