Native Country: Hungary Tilo, the beautiful dog, was found wandering homeless on August 2, 2024, in a neighboring community, likely searching for food and help, and reported to the Menhely. He was in no good condition, but it was his luck to be saved. As expected, he was not microchipped, and no one was missing him. For the better, Tilo now has a chance at an appropriate dog life and people who will love and value him. We are crossing our fingers that he will soon win his ticket to happiness. Tilo was initially very fearful, a bundle of nerves. But no wonder, for he had already experienced the darker sides of life. One cannot imagine what he must have endured. But he is now becoming more curious, more lively, and is warming up to us, and it is lovely to see that he is still ready to trust humans. Tilo enjoys and delights when someone takes care of him and gives him time and affection. Tilo still has to learn everything about being a dog, and his new people should be happy to teach him everything lovingly that a young dog needs to know for a life as a family dog. Similarly, his new people should be aware that a young puppy brings a lot of joy but also a lot of work, and one takes on the responsibility for a whole dog’s life. Tilo is part of the mentor program, and the contact with different people is doing him a lot of good, and the mentors are all in love with him. He has no problems with his fellow animals. For our charming Tilo, who probably has something Kaukase in him, after a very bumpy start in life, the sun should finally shine. We are looking for loving and adventure-loving people who can give Tilo everything he has not been given before: lots of cuddles and snuggle hours, a warm, soft, and safe place to sleep, daily varied walks, age- and dog-appropriate mental stimulation, play, and fun, security, peace, care, love, and of course full family integration. A great dog seeks family integration! On November 26, 2024, a voluntary, Hungarian helper writes: "Tilo arrived in a very poor condition in the care of the animal shelter this summer. Thanks to the care of the Menhely, he has become a friendly, beautiful, and healthy dog. He loves people and enjoys being stroked. When I called him, he came and lay at my feet. During the walk, he was attentive and walked nicely on the leash. He showed interest in his dog companions. Tilo is waiting for his new, responsible owner who will give him care, attention, and love for the rest of his life. He needs understanding and patient training because he has missed so much in his life. He should be allowed to experience what it is like to be a happy dog in a family. A large garden is essential, and he also needs daily walks and playful activities that cater to his need for movement. No dog should live in a kennel or on a chain. He is eager to learn and hopes to experience much more with his family soon." On January 23, 2026, a voluntary, Hungarian helper writes: "Tilo arrived in the care of the animal shelter in the summer of 2024. He was very thin and neglected. Thanks to the loving care at the animal shelter, he is now a healthy and wonderful dog. Despite all the bad experiences he had to endure, Tilo still has faith in people. He loves people, is friendly, sweet, and very open in his interactions. Tilo regularly participates in the mentor days. He likes both his caregiver and the mentors very much. He is cuddly and would love to crawl into someone’s lap, snuggling up to us. He craves and enjoys cuddles and affection. Even during the walk, he wants attention and loving mental stimulation. Tilo walks nicely on the leash and enjoys every moment of the walk. There are many beautiful impressions and exciting scents to discover. He is grateful, has a very positive aura, and shows curiosity, interest, attentiveness, and intelligence." Tilo is ready for travel. Ursprungsland: Ungarn Der wunderschöne Tilo wurde am 2.8.2024 herrenlos umherirrend in einer Nachbargemeinde gefunden, vermutlich auf der Suche nach Futter und Hilfe, und dem Menhely gemeldet. Er war in keinem guten Zustand, und es war sein Glück, dass er gerettet wurde. Wie nicht anders zu erwarten, war er nicht gechipt, und es gab niemanden, der ihn vermisste. Wohl besser so, denn nun bekommt Tilo eine Chance auf ein artgerechtes Hundeleben und Menschen, die ihn lieben und schätzen. Wir drücken ihm fest die Daumen, dass er bald sein Ticket ins Glück lösen darf. Tilo war am Anfang recht ängstlich, ein Häufchen Elend. Aber kein Wunder, hat er doch schon die Schattenseiten des Lebens kennenlernen müssen, man darf sich gar nicht vorstellen, was er ausgestanden haben muss. Inzwischen wird er täglich neugieriger und munterer und taut immer mehr auf, und es ist schön zu sehen, dass er weiter bereit ist, uns Menschen zu vertrauen. Er freut sich und geniesst es, wenn man sich um ihn kümmert und ihm etwas Zeit und Zuneigung schenkt. Tilo muss noch alles vom Hundeeinmaleins lernen, und seine neuen Menschen sollten Freude daran haben, ihm alles liebevoll beizubringen, was so ein junger Hund für sein weiteres Leben als Familienhund wissen muss. Ebenso sollten sie sich bewusst sein, dass ein Junghund viel Freude, aber auch viel Arbeit macht und man die Verantwortung für ein ganzes Hundeleben übernimmt. Tilo macht im Mentorprogramm mit, der Kontakt mit verschiedenen Menschen tut ihm sehr gut, und die Mentoren sind alle verliebt in ihn. Mit seinen Artgenossen hat er keine Probleme. Für unseren bezaubernden Tilo, in dem vermutlich etwas Kaukase steckt, soll nach einem sehr holprigen Start ins Leben endlich auch die Sonne scheinen. Wir suchen liebe und unternehmungslustige Menschen, die Tilo all das geben, was ihm bisher nicht vergönnt war: ganz viele Streicheleinheiten und Knuddelstunden, ein warmes, weiches und sicheres Plätzchen zum Schlafen, täglich abwechslungsreiche Spaziergänge, hunde- und altersgerechte Beschäftigung, Spiel und Spass, Sicherheit, Ruhe, Fürsorge, Liebe und natürlich vollen Familienanschluss. Update vom 27.07.2026: An den Mentortagen erleben wir Tilo auf dem Spielplatz und bei Spaziergängen, und trotz all der schlechten Erfahrungen, die er machen musste, hat er seinen Glauben an die Menschen bewahrt. Er liebt seine Betreuerin und die Mentoren sehr, ist verschmust und würde am liebsten auf den Schoss kriechen, gerne schmiegt er sich an und fordert Streicheleinheiten und Zuwendung ein, die er sichtlich geniesst. An der Leine läuft er schön und geniesst jeden Moment des Spaziergangs, denn unterwegs gibt es viele schöne Eindrücke und spannende Gerüche zu entdecken. Er ist dankbar, hat eine sehr positive Ausstrahlung und zeigt sich neugierig, interessiert, aufmerksam und klug. Update vom 04.09.2026: Tilo lebt inzwischen mit Edwina zusammen, mit welcher er auch an den Mentorentagen gemeinsam spazieren geht. Anders als für einen jungen Hund vielleicht zu erwarten, ist Tilo eher ruhig und gemütlich veranlagt: in seinem Zwinger döst und ruht er gerne in den lustigsten Posen und braucht keinen ständigen Trubel um sich herum. Umso grösser ist sein Bedürfnis nach menschlicher Nähe und liebervoller Zuwendung. Tilo ist reisefertig. Ein grosses Dankeschön an Lisa Ferrari für die Übernahme der Patenschaft von Tilo.
