Tim

Male · Young · 3 years

Tim, neutered male dog, 3 years, born around August 2023, 60 cm tall, weighs approx. 22 kg, foreign country. Background. This cheerful young dog, 3 years old, was abandoned at the shelter. One day he walked onto the premises and didn't want to leave anymore. Character. Tim is a cheerful, lively, friendly, affectionate, mischievous and very smart dog. It is clear that he grew up with other dogs as well as among people. He loves to play with the other dogs at the shelter, but also enjoys being inside the house. Cuddling, playing and lying on the couch are his favorite activities. Tim is a beautiful, slender dog who needs to be able to burn off his energy. This can be done during long walks or during play with other dogs. He might also really enjoy running next to a bicycle. He also loves to be in the car. Tim knows the basic commands, listens very well and walks nicely on a leash. He really likes children and other dogs. He can get used to cats, but this needs to be done under guidance.

NL·Show original

Tim, gecastreerde reu, 3 jaar, geboren omstreeks augustus 2023, 60 cm hoog, weegt ca. 22 kg, buitenland. Achtergrond.

About Tim

What life with Tim looks like

Tim is a large young adult dog waiting at Stichting AAI in Amsterdam.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tim, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tim?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Stichting AAI handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tim on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tim if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Stichting AAI will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tim already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tim isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Stichting AAI early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tim and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
