Cor

Male · Senior · 8 years

This cute snout belongs to (Uncle) Cor! Cor is a mixed breed, 8 years old, but you'd never know it. He's lively, energetic, and thoroughly enjoys life. Cor is a genuine people dog. He's incredibly loving, affectionate, and likes to be close to his owner. He'd rather spend the whole day ambling along with you, even preferring to go potty together 😉 Cor can stay at home alone, but this needs to be built up gradually. He's not a big fan of it here and sometimes vocalizes his discomfort. With patience, clarity, and a safe routine, he can continue to grow in this area. During walks, Cor still needs some guidance. He likes to walk with you but can sometimes pull on the leash. He also finds other dogs and cyclists outside exciting. A master who can guide him in this manner calmly and consistently will have a wonderful dog. We are looking for a home where Cor can get all the attention he deserves. Other dogs and cats do not fit him; he feels most comfortable as the only pet. A quiet household with one or two adults without children and a garden will make him absolutely happy. Are you searching for a loyal, lively dog who likes to be close to you and can flourish with the right guidance?. This animal is not suitable for homes with children.

NL·Show original

About Cor

What life with Cor looks like

Cor is a senior dog waiting at Dierenasiel Utrecht in Utrecht.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cor, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cor?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierenasiel Utrecht handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cor on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cor if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierenasiel Utrecht will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cor already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cor isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierenasiel Utrecht early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cor and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
