Timmy lives in a pension in Patras / Greece VIDEOS AVAILABLE !!! male dog/castrated born. ca. April 2024 Size: ca. 28 cm Update 27.10.2025: Little guy seeks active people. Update 27.10.2025: Our colleagues report on Timmy: Timmy is a very open-minded dog. He had no touch fears with us, even though we were completely strangers to him. He also acted very relaxed with the other dogs in the pension. Despite his size of only just over 30 cm, he is certainly not a dog that one would only take for a short walk. Active people would be great for him who like to spend a lot of time with their four-legged friend and go for long walks. WHAT HAS HAPPENED SO FAR:Timmy is our first new arrival after the terrible fire in Patras. The little male dog had been hanging around near Maria's apartment for a few days before the fire. Maria had been feeding and keeping an eye on Timmy. When the fire suddenly spread into the city and chaos broke out, the little one disappeared. Maria was very happy to find him a day later at the temporary animal shelter set up on the beach. She brought him to the vet, where he was castrated, dewormed, and vaccinated. A test for Mediterranean diseases was also conducted, which fortunately came back negative in all areas. Now, Timmy is housed in a local dog pension and is waiting for a nice home. He is a great puppy, compatible with his fellow animals, and friendly to all people. The pension manager is enthusiastic about the little guy. Timmy is already castrated, vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed. Additionally, he brings his own EU pet passport.

About Timmy

What life with Timmy looks like

Timmy is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierfreunde Patras e.V. in Ratingen.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Timmy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Timmy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierfreunde Patras e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Timmy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Timmy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierfreunde Patras e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Timmy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Timmy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierfreunde Patras e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Timmy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
