Tippy

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 10 years

Can live with: Older Children 10+ Meet handsome Tippy — a sweet and sensitive 2½-year-old boy looking for a calm, loving home to call his own. Tippy originally came to RSPCA Bluebell Ridge from a multi-cat household where several entire male cats were living together. Sadly, the stressful environment meant the cats were constantly competing over resources. After arriving in care, Tippy was adopted alongside his brother Vinnie, who he had previously lived with. Unfortunately, despite their close bond, the boys began to scrap in the home and it became clear that Tippy would be happier finding a home where he could be the only pet and enjoy all the attention to himself. Once he’s had a few days to settle in, Tippy’s lovely personality really shines through. He grows in confidence quickly, enjoys exploring his surroundings, and absolutely loves fuss and attention from his people. He has also met children aged 10 years and over and was very comfortable around them, so we think he could happily live with sensible older children. Tippy is a fantastic lad with so much love to give. He’s looking for a peaceful home, with no other pets, where he can relax, feel safe, and build a close bond with his new family. In return, you’ll gain a gentle, affectionate companion who will thrive with patience, kindness, and understanding. Could you be the person to give Tippy the fresh start he deserves? About Tippy

What life with Tippy looks like

Tippy is a senior mixed breed animal waiting at RSPCA Brighton and the Heart of Sussex in United Kingdom.

Every animal has their own temperament and history. The shelter knows Tippy far better than any listing can convey — ask about daily routine, ideal household, and what kind of adopter they're hoping for.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tippy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tippy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. RSPCA Brighton and the Heart of Sussex handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tippy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tippy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — RSPCA Brighton and the Heart of Sussex will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tippy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most animals on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tippy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with RSPCA Brighton and the Heart of Sussex early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tippy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (the shelter's own language). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
