adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Tjure has found his home! His story: Tjure is an approximately two-year-old tomcat with a moving story. He was found near a veterinary clinic, severely marked by a painful ear infection. The infection was so severe that a part of his ear had to be surgically removed – a small external feature that today hardly stands out and does not in any way diminish his charm. When found, Tjure was in a concerning state: emaciated, weakened, and marked by life on the streets. Following that, were two long months in a cage at the veterinary clinic. Despite his gentle nature and loving disposition, no one initially wanted to take in the adult cat – many people unfortunately prefer kittens at adoption time. But fate was kind to Tjure. He was eventually taken in by us and allowed to move into a foster home with other cats. Here, he blossomed and revealed his true personality: he is an exceptionally social, open, and friendly tomcat who gets along wonderfully with both his fellow animals and people. Tjure has proven to be very adaptable and can live both as a pure indoor cat and with the possibility of going outdoors. In both environments, he feels at ease and displays his balanced, loving nature. He is now seeking a home where he can finally rest and enjoy his second chance at a happy cat life to the fullest. During his travel arrangements, Tjure, like all our cats and tomcats, is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. He has already tested negative for FIV and FeLV and an EU pet passport is packed into his travel bag. This cat needs outdoor access.

About Tjure

What life with Tjure looks like

Tjure is a young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tjure, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tjure?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tjure on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tjure if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tjure already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tjure isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tjure and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
