🐾 Toby – D2026-37 🐾 3-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel βœ”οΈ Neutered βœ”οΈ Vaccinated βœ”οΈ Microchipped βœ”οΈ Up to date with flea and worm treatment If enthusiasm had four legs and a wagging tail, it would be Toby! This handsome little Cavalier is bursting with excitement for life and is looking for an active home ready to help him become the very best version of himself. Toby greets every day as if it's the most exciting day ever, especially if it involves a walk! The moment his harness and lead appear, Toby can't contain himself. He squeaks with excitement, wiggles with anticipation, and is desperate to get out the door and explore. He absolutely adores his walks and loves meeting people and other dogs when he's out and about. His social skills can be a little enthusiastic at times, but his intentions are always friendly. Toby is a people dog through and through. He forms strong bonds with his humans and loves being involved in family life. Because of this, he can become possessive of his favourite person and needs help learning that attention and affection can be shared. He is eager to please, learns quickly, and responds well to calm, consistent guidance. Toby will need to be the only dog in his new home so he can continue working on his confidence and boundaries. However, he enjoys seeing other dogs on walks and is happy to socialise out and about. He is currently sleeping downstairs with the other dogs, either curled up on the sofa or in a cosy dog bed. He has not been crate trained and prefers to be close to his people, although he settles well overnight. House training is still a work in progress, but Toby is making excellent progress. He responds brilliantly to praise for toileting outside and is improving every day. Accidents are now occasional, and he will reliably use a puppy pad or towel if he can't make it outdoors. Toby loves his treats and takes them very gently, although his foster carers say he could afford to lose a pound or

About Toby

What life with Toby looks like

Toby is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Friends of Animals Wales in United Kingdom.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window β€” house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Toby, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Toby?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Friends of Animals Wales handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Toby on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Toby if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Friends of Animals Wales will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Toby already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Toby isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Friends of Animals Wales early rather than rehoming privately; they know Toby and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
