Toni

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 6 months

Toni was born around August 2026 and is currently 27 cm tall (as of October 28, 2026). The little puppy was abandoned along with other puppies on a field in Romania and left to his fate. Too young to fend for himself, he was suddenly without protection and care. Fortunately, Romanian animal rights activist Angela noticed the abandoned puppies. Since Toni was still very small, she personally took him in to bring him to safety and provide him with the care he so desperately needed. Thanks to her help, the little treasure got a second chance. Now Toni can grow up in safety and hopefully soon experience how wonderful life can be in a family of his own. The little puppy is still at the beginning of his life and has so many wonderful experiences ahead of him. Together playing, curiously discovering the world, taking nice walks and then snuggling in a warm basket - that's what we wish for Toni. Toni is a very special and charming little puppy who conquers hearts with his wonderful nature. The Romanian animal rights activist Angela describes him as a real treasure. With his lovable nature, Toni is a little heartbreaker who simply wants to be given lots of love and security. He brings the best prerequisites to become a wonderful family companion and enrich the lives of his future people. Like every young dog, Toni still has a lot to learn. Housebreaking, walks on a leash, living with people and all the little things of the dog's ABC will be new experiences for him. That's why he needs people who stand by him with patience, understanding and loving upbringing. We wish for Toni a loving family that enjoys accompanying a young dog in growing up. People who have enough time for him, like to do things with him and want to take him in as a full-fledged family member. Toni was simply thrown away as if his little life was worthless. But for us, he is a very special treasure who deserves a happy future. Now he only needs one thing: a forever home of his own. Who falls in love with our little Toni and gives him a home forever? We look forward to your inquiries! He has been examined by a veterinarian, dewormed, flea-free, chipped, vaccinated and tested for Mediterranean diseases incl. Leishmaniasis, with EU passport and Traces. He is too young for neutering. The deposit is 595 €.

About Toni

What life with Toni looks like

Toni is a small puppy mixed breed dog waiting at Tierrettung International e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Toni, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Toni?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierrettung International e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Toni on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Toni if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierrettung International e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Toni already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Toni isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierrettung International e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Toni and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
