TRUŚ

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Young · 3 years

Year of birth: 2023 Truś is a young, medium-sized dog with a beautiful coat and an extraordinary story. For a long time, he lived in the wild, without any contact with humans. When he came into the care of the shelter, he was very withdrawn and distrustful. Thanks to the tremendous dedication of volunteers and staff, however, he has made remarkable progress. Today, he allows himself to be touched, calmly wears a harness, and increasingly looks forward to going for walks. Although he still tends to be cautious around new places and situations, he gains confidence with each passing day and becomes more and more open to people. Truś is looking for a calm, patient home that will give him time to build trust and explore the world at his own pace. He’s a dog who doesn’t need much—above all, he needs safety, understanding, and an owner willing to rejoice in every little success he achieves. If you dream of a loyal companion and can give a dog the time he needs, Truś will repay you with his trust and devoted heart.

Rok urodzenia: 2023 Truś to młody, średniej wielkości pies o pięknym umaszczeniu i wyjątkowej historii.

About TRUŚ

What life with TRUŚ looks like

TRUŚ is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Zielonej Górze in Zielona Góra.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting TRUŚ, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about TRUŚ?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Zielonej Górze handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw TRUŚ on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt TRUŚ if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Zielonej Górze will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is TRUŚ already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if TRUŚ isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Zielonej Górze early rather than rehoming privately; they know TRUŚ and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
