Tsoy (Τσου)

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 3 years

“We love animals, but…” Chu was a stray dog in Chalkida. At one point, some “animal lovers”—the kind who fill their profiles with heart emojis and tear-jerking status updates—decided to do their “good deed” by taking him in and later, quite deliberately, adopting him. But the fairy tale didn’t last long. You see, “personal reasons” came up. And what do you do when things get tough? You want to get rid of the “problem.” The easy thing wasn’t to take responsibility. The easy thing was to shift the blame elsewhere and attack the volunteers once the truth came out. Because for some, the problem isn’t the animal’s fate or their own irresponsibility—it’s that it got exposed. And so here we are now, where they’ve thrown the “toy” right back where they found it. They opened the door and left him on the street again, as if he were an old piece of furniture. We found him again on Avanton Street. Except this time, Chu isn’t just a stray dog. He’s a betrayed dog. Extremely hungry, thirsty, and struggling to walk. (These conditions will improve day by day.) It’s easy to call yourself an animal lover from the comfort of your couch. What’s hard is having a heart when things get dark. Chu paid the price for the “humanity” of some people who measured their love by an expiration date. Chu is looking for a (real) home. We’re searching for the perfect companion for Chu—not just a temporary fix, not just a photo for social media. We’re looking for people who know what “forever” means. Chu (from Pikatsou) is about 2.5 years old, a Malinois mix, weighing 45 kilos, with an exceptional character. He gets along great with everyone, knows all about sofas and beds, loves cuddles, knows all about cars, and is perfectly comfortable on a leash. Despite the disappointment humans have brought him, Chu remains the same wonderful dog: sociable, affectionate, cooperative, and ready to trust—and to be trusted again. Because, fortunately, dogs’ hearts are much bigger than ours. Chu is waiting. And he finally deserves not to wait any longer. 🐾❤️ For more information, please inbox us or call 6942426041.

About Tsoy (Τσου)

What life with Tsoy (Τσου) looks like

Tsoy (Τσου) is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Dogs Voice in Athens.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇷Adopting from Greece

Greek shelters often partner with Northern European rescue groups for placements. Animals are sterilized, vaccinated, and chipped before adoption. Fees vary widely depending on whether the shelter is municipal or NGO-run.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tsoy (Τσου), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tsoy (Τσου)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Voice handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tsoy (Τσου) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tsoy (Τσου) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Voice will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tsoy (Τσου) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tsoy (Τσου) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Voice early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tsoy (Τσου) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
