adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Tuffi will travel directly to your final destination! Her story: This is Tuffi, a charming female dog with a very special presence. With her beautiful beige-brown fur, elegant black accents, and deep, amber eyes, she looks hopefully into her future. Tuffi has a sad story in her past: her owner passed away, and she was left behind with three other dogs. But Tuffi is a fighter with a heart of gold, ready to start a new chapter. The best about Tuffi? She has already successfully navigated the stormy puppy years and the mischief of puberty! At 3 years old and a comfortable size of 35 cm, she is in her prime: she brings the necessary maturity with her but is still young and adventurous enough to stick with her people through thick and thin. Currently, she waits at her foster mom Ana for her heart’s people to discover her. Character-wise, Tuffi is a perfect match: she is described as consistently loving, friendly, and very trusting. She enjoys being close to humans and is a truly clingy companion. Also, in social interactions, she is a role model: she gets along well with other dogs, is patient with cats, and even children are welcome in her new home. Since Tuffi likely hasn’t learned the full “dog ABC” in her previous life, she is looking for people who enjoy patiently explaining the world to her. Whether secure walking on a leash or house rules – with her trusting nature, she will surely try her best to please her people. Tuffi is ready to start anew – all she needs is the ticket to her great happiness. Tuffi travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated to her new home. She also has her EU pet passport in her luggage. Thanks to many Jennifer E.! You gave Tuffi her name and paved the way to a happy future. As of: 13.12.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 13.12.2025

About Tuffi

What life with Tuffi looks like

Tuffi is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tuffi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tuffi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tuffi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tuffi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tuffi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tuffi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tuffi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
