Tuxa

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 6 months

adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Tuxa has found her forever home! Her story: Tuxa is a beautiful young female dog who had to experience the harshness of life at a young age. She came from a small group of dogs that were completely on their own with little to eat or drink. Despite this, she remained open and friendly. The young female dog is friendly, brave, and very clingy. She enjoys the company of humans and loves to be petted. She appears uncomplicated and adaptable, suggesting she will likely fit well into a loving home. She gets along well with other dogs and currently lives problem-free in the pack. It is not known if she has any experience with cats. As she is still very young, Tuxa naturally comes with typical puppy traits: curiosity, a willingness to learn, and sometimes a bit of mischief in her head. Loving consistency, a lot of patience, and attending a positively trained dog class will help her develop into a confident companion. Tuxa will be microchipped, vaccinated, treated for fleas, and dewormed with an EU pet passport for her new home. After a positive assessment, since Tuxa has a short tail, she unfortunately cannot enter Switzerland. Would you like to give the charming Tuxa the chance at a life full of security and safety? A big thank you goes to Martyna C., who gave Tuxa the chance at a new life with her name! As of: 12.08.

Stand: 12.08.2025

About Tuxa

What life with Tuxa looks like

Tuxa is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tuxa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tuxa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tuxa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tuxa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tuxa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tuxa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tuxa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
