Adopt TYRELL

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 10 years

Estimated birth date: October 2015 Brief info: friendly, attentive, energetic, curious, people-oriented, sometimes insecure in new situations, female dogs+, male dogs+ TYRELL was estimated to have been born in October 2015 and came to Kata's shelter in December 2017 after being found wandering alone on the street and reported by attentive passersby. TYRELL shares the fate with several other fur noses, all of whom have been overlooked until now. Many dogs have been waiting years upon years in vain for their discovery, and with each passing year, their hope diminishes a little more. They have seen many other dogs – some even after a short time in the station – travel on, leaving them behind. But we do not give up hope that these wonderful four-legged friends will also be noticed by someone and given their chance at a few beautiful dog years. These older and larger fur noses often do not immediately catch the eye alongside the cute puppies or even smaller adorable dogs – despite their wonderful and lovable character traits. They too long for love, security, and their own true home, which many of you have never had the chance to experience. TYRELL is a friendly and attentive dog man. He is very happy when he is taken out of the exercise yard and gets to explore his surroundings curiously and joyfully. Unfortunately, this happens far too rarely due to a lack of time. With strangers, he is still a little unsure and does not want to go along right away. But after a little while and a few treats, he finds it pleasant to go for a walk with them and enjoys the cuddles. We have known TYRELL for many years from our visits to the animal shelter, and he was always considered rather intolerant. But now, over the years, a certain mellowing and composure seem to have developed, as he showed surprising friendliness and even a little shyness during a retest for compatibility. He can also walk in a group without much interest in his fellow animals. Overall, he still lacks the routine in dog contact. In the case of an inquiry for TYRELL, of course, further tests can be conducted. The dear TYRELL would fit well with people with solid dog experience. He would like to experience what it is like to be loved and cuddled and to lead a normal, species-appropriate dog life. Perhaps after such a long time, someone will still discover this beloved dog man – we do not give up hope. Due to his suspected mixed breed, TYRELL unfortunately cannot be rehomed to Germany but only to certain cantons in Switzerland (or to other countries without restrictions, such as Hungary). TYRELL will be neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and come with an EU pet passport to his new home. Would you like to offer a lovely home to this charming aspiring senior dog? We look forward to your message!

About TYRELL

What life with TYRELL looks like

TYRELL is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at Pfotenretter Ungarn in Pfotenretter.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting TYRELL, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about TYRELL?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Pfotenretter Ungarn handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw TYRELL on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt TYRELL if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Pfotenretter Ungarn will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is TYRELL already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if TYRELL isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Pfotenretter Ungarn early rather than rehoming privately; they know TYRELL and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
