BRONEK – SENIOR - HANDICAP Bronek – Senior – Handicap - male dog, neutered, born ca. 2015, shoulder height ca. 60 – 62 cm, in the animal shelter Belchatow since 11.09.2025. We would like to report on Bronek: a male dog at least 10 years old, who, we believe, did not have an easy life. We first saw him in October in quarantine, and he was extremely excited about our visit, coming very close, allowing himself to be stroked. His right front paw is deformed, and the animal shelter reports: "The X-ray shows that the paw was cut by something sharp a long time ago. The wound healed, but he has not regained his mobility. How much pain must this dog have endured, how much must he have suffered?" He almost always holds his paw high. Bronek has beautiful fur, a real looker. He is a cheerful, friendly dog, who likes all people, initiates contact, has an open nature, and wants to cuddle with his caregiver all the time. Unfortunately, he does not like other dogs, so he sits alone in a kennel. Bronek is a dear, older gentleman, a schnauzer with a deformed paw, a shortened tail, and a likely grim past, but he is still friendly and loving to all people, unfortunately not compatible with other dogs.... Finding a new home will be very difficult for him – we are advocating for him and are presenting him here. He should not have to live the rest of his life alone, without human affection in a kennel. A quiet, loving home without other dogs, where Bronek can enjoy his days – that is what we wish for him so much. (11/2025 B/ WK)

(11/2025 B/ WK)

About Unknown

What life with Unknown looks like

Unknown is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Hundehilfe Polen in Dierkshausen.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Unknown, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Unknown?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundehilfe Polen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Unknown on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Unknown if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundehilfe Polen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Unknown already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Unknown isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundehilfe Polen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Unknown and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
