VAIANA

German Shepherd · Female · Adult · 4 years

VAIANA - injured in dire need! - Belgian Shepherd, approx. 4 years old, born around May 5th, 2022, vaccinated, chipped, spayed/neutered, EU passport. - Waiting in France - VAIANA is a Belgian Shepherd estimated to be just 4 years old. From the beginning, she has been very friendly towards people, very affectionate and received basic training. With females, she doesn't want to cuddle (well, you can't expect that from every dog), but on walks on a leash, she pays more attention to her human. Due to space constraints in the animal shelter (they try to avoid euthanasia), she has shared a kennel with another male several times. Even at the food bowl, there were no problems. However, tensions gradually arose when living with the friendly SCOUBIDOO, and it went well for a long time with a smaller black Staffordshire Bull Terrier (he was previously considered the incompatible dog), but yesterday, a serious fight broke out. VAIANA is now in the clinic. The smaller Staffie has no injuries, which speaks for itself. VAIANA underwent surgery yesterday and must now return to the station with this severe injury. I must say it again: we are not talking about a German animal shelter with a hospital ward, but about a kennel facility with unheated huts (which we purchased; otherwise, there would only be a wooden board). We are therefore urgently looking for a place for VAIANA that is clean and warm where she can recover. She should not be left unsupervised with another dog. We believe she can live with a male in the long term, but an individual place would be even better, preferably with contact to other dogs. However, what's most important to her is close interaction with people, where she is also challenged according to her breed. She does not come from a working line, but she is no couch potato either. A Belgian Shepherd wants to please; he usually doesn't even need treats, he must understand what the human wants and then will try everything to be praised. VAIANA needs both a place and donations for veterinary costs. - WHO WILL HELP VAIANA? - Info and contact Ingrid Belz - email: - T: - www.joshi2.de We grant data release to all persons involved in animal welfare.

VAIANA - nach Verletzung in großer Not ! - Belg. SH, ca. 4 J., geb.ca.05.06.2022, geimpft, gechippt, kastriert, EU-Paß. - WER HILFT VAIANA ? - Info u. About VAIANA

What life with VAIANA looks like

VAIANA is a large adult german shepherd dog waiting at Tier-Not-Hilfe in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting VAIANA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about VAIANA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tier-Not-Hilfe handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw VAIANA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt VAIANA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tier-Not-Hilfe will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is VAIANA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if VAIANA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tier-Not-Hilfe early rather than rehoming privately; they know VAIANA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
