Adopt Valdomero & Nora

Female · Adult · 10 years

Valdomero (EKH/Siam-Mix, black and white) and Nora (EKH/Siam-Mix, brown and white) were both born in 2016 and originally come from Spain. The two were already adopted and lived happily for many years with their cat dad until he unfortunately passed away recently. The sister-in-law temporarily took them in, but they cannot stay there permanently and are now urgently looking for a new home for the two beauties. At first, Nora needs time and a lot of peace to settle in. If things go too fast for her, she will show it directly. But once she has acclimated, she is truly affectionate, demanding cuddles and also enjoys playing (especially with feather toys). She loves to eat plants. In contrast, Valdomero is immediately very open and trusting, a calm, relaxed, and uncomplicated guy who is totally cuddly. Playing is not his thing; he prefers to observe. When stressed, the female cat reacts with hissing and sometimes even a paw swipe. The beautiful tomcat remains completely relaxed, even when things get louder and wilder. Nora seems to orient herself by Valdomero and gets security from him, which is why they must be rehomed together. Even if they don't snuggle up closely, they are usually within sight of each other. There should be no small children in their new home, not even in the future. Nora panics at the thought. For her, we wish for a quiet and stress-free HappyHome, together with her long-time companion. Currently, they eat only dry food and do not touch wet food. They also do not like still water, but they love the cat fountain. They are not familiar with free roaming and should therefore continue to live in an apartment, with secure outdoor access or a balcony being desirable, but not a requirement. The two are currently in Ludwigshafen, where you can meet them by appointment and fall in love instantly. Who will give this beautiful cat couple their new HappyHome for the second half of their lives?. This cat is to be kept indoors only.

About Valdomero & Nora

What life with Valdomero & Nora looks like

Valdomero & Nora is a adult cat waiting at Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Valdomero & Nora, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Valdomero & Nora?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Valdomero & Nora on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Valdomero & Nora if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Valdomero & Nora already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Valdomero & Nora isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Valdomero & Nora and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
