Adopt Vexy

Mixed Breed · Female

Vexy - young and active Status: available for adoption Vexy is a young female dog who is slowly discovering the world and making great progress every day. At first, she was a bit shy around the household members, but once she trusts a person, she shows her very gentle side - she can be a real cuddle and snuggle, who doesn't mind personal human space at all. She likes being petted, but she values playtime and activity even more. This is a dog that learns quickly, but needs a patient, calm, and ready to work with a young, energetic dog. She would best find her place with an active person who likes movement and walks. In the house, Vexy keeps it clean. Initially, she barked at sounds on the staircase, but this now happens rarely. Regarding being alone at home, she copes best when she is with other dogs - in such a situation, she is calm. A camera can be helpful, allowing remote calming of Vexy - she then reacts to a calm message and can return to the couch. On walks, she is very curious and excited, so she sometimes pulls on the leash and moves rather chaotically - everything must be thoroughly sniffed. Vexy is a dog that needs time to trust strangers. She may initially bark at guests in the house, but quickly calms down. Outdoors, she usually keeps her distance, although if someone suddenly enters her personal space, she may react with barking or jumping. Her relations with other dogs are varied - at home, she can be very sociable, likes to be close and invites to play. Currently, she reads dog signals very well and respects the space of others. She had an episode of resource guarding, but everything has normalized now. Nevertheless, she would best find her place as the only dog in the house or with a very gentle, calm companion. She treats cats in the house very positively and gladly invites them to play, but does so quite intensively, so she would best find her place with an active cat. Outdoors, she can sometimes try to chase them. She hasn't had much contact with children - on a walk, she once growled at them. Vexy is a dog that needs a calm, responsible caregiver and a home where someone is ready to work with her on emotions and build her sense of security. Caution is also important at the door - Vexy is clever and can try to squeeze through at the last moment while closing the door. Under the care of a patient person, Vexy thrives and shows how wonderful she can be - a loving, intelligent, and loyal dog. She just needs someone who gives her time, a sense of security, and shows her that the world is not really scary. 💛 - — DOG PROFILE —- 🧮 Year of birth: 05/2024 🚻 Sex: female 🐾 Size: medium 13.4kg 🏀 Activity: medium ❤️ Neutered: yes ℹ️ Chip: yes 💉 Vaccinations: yes ✅ The dog is under the care of the Gdansk branch of the Judyta Puppies Foundation ✅ The dog is currently in a foster home in the Gdansk area and surroundings ✅ Adoption obligation is: filling out the questionnaire, pre-adoption visit, and signing the adoption agreement ✅ LINK TO QUESTIONNAIRE: ✅ We reserve the right to contact selected persons SUPPORT THE DOG: BLIK/TRANSFER PAYPAL

Vexy - młoda i aktywna Status: do adopcji Vexy to młoda suczka, która powoli odkrywa świat i z każdym dniem robi coraz większe postępy. Vexy to pies, który potrzebuje spokojnego, odpowiedzialnego opiekuna i domu, w którym ktoś będzie gotowy pracować z nią nad emocjami i budować jej poczucie bezpieczeństwa.

About Vexy

What life with Vexy looks like

Vexy is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Vexy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Vexy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Vexy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Vexy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Vexy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Vexy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Vexy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
