Adoption requirements Adoption process Request this animal now! Adoption requirements Adoption process Request this dog now! Vila bears her name not by chance. In old stories, Vilas are quiet nature spirits - shy, reserved, watchful, but of special beauty. This is exactly how this white female dog shows herself, who was rescued from euthanasia in Zalău and now has the chance for a new life. Nothing is known about her past, but one can sense that she has not experienced much security or comfort so far. Nevertheless, Vila already shows how much potential she has. She is a gentle, sensitive female dog who carefully observes and cautiously makes contact. With patience, good food, and loving attention, she slowly warms up and begins to trust step by step. Especially in relaxed moments, one can see how curious and lovable Vila actually is. Unfortunately, dogs like Vila have little chance in the stressful shelter environment. Between noise, restlessness, and lack of individual support, sensitive dogs quickly disappear. But Vila already shows that she is ready to take the first steps - if you do not pressure her, but give her time and security. Treats are her big weakness and will certainly help to work through a lot with her. Therefore, we wish Vila a quiet, patient home or an experienced foster home where she can finally arrive. People who look beyond her insecurity and enjoy watching her grow. In a loving and stable environment, Vila will probably quickly bloom and gain more and more trust. Vila is waiting for people who show her that life is not only made up of fear and uncertainty - but also of warmth, security, and a home of her own. After a positive preliminary check and against a protection fee, Vila can travel to her new home neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas, and with an EU pet passport. A foster home would also be very helpful for her to slowly arrive, build trust, and become part of a new world. Thank you to Susann G.! Thanks to you, Vila has an identity and thus a chance that seemed impossible before. Updated: 13.05.2026

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Danke an Susann G.! Stand: 13.05.2026

About Vila

What life with Vila looks like

Vila is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Vila, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Vila?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Vila on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Vila if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Vila already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Vila isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Vila and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
