Adopt Viva

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 7 years

Viva - an active lady Status: available for adoption Viva is a female dog who doesn't immediately show her true face. After over 3 months in a temporary home, she has become much more social, often seeking attention and enjoys being close to people. At home, she is calm and problem-free — she doesn't destroy anything, keeps clean, and remains stress-free even when left alone for many hours. She cooperates well when setting up crates 🙂 She barks little, travels well in the car, and behaves politely and allows full examination in the vet's office 🙂 Viva would best find a home in a quiet place without other dogs or with a caregiver experienced in working with reactive dogs. She needs space and human support in interactions with other dogs, as she strongly feels emotions in difficult situations. Despite this, it's clear she doesn't seek conflict, but mainly insecurity and stress — especially in places where she feels threatened, like a cage ladder or a vet visit. This female dog turns small things into great successes every day. Recently, she entered the balcony for the first time ❤️ The cage ladder is still a big challenge for her, just like baths, which she dislikes very much. Walks can be different — sometimes emotions take over and Viva pulls, while other times she can walk calmly and attentively. One thing is certain: on the beach, she becomes the happiest dog in the world, and then you can see her true joy 🙂 Viva is looking for a patient, quiet home that will give her a sense of security and allow her to develop at her own pace. This exceptional female dog tries very hard and with the right people can open her huge heart ❤️ — METRYCZKA PS — 🧮 Age: 01-11-2019 ♀ Female 🐾 Size: 26 KG 🏀 Activity: high ❤️ Spay: yes ℹ️ Microchip: yes 💉 Vaccinations: yes 📍 Location: Temporary Home in Trójmiasto ✅ The dog is under the care of the Trójmiasto branch of the Foundation for Puppies Judyta ✅ The dog is in a temporary home in the Trójmiasto area and surroundings ✅ Adoption obligation: filling out an application form, a pre-adoption visit, and signing an adoption agreement ✅ LINK TO APPLICATION:. Spacery bywają różne — czasami emocje biorą górę i Viva ciągnie, innym razem potrafi spacerować spokojnie i uważnie.

About Viva

What life with Viva looks like

Viva is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Viva, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Viva?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Viva on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Viva if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Viva already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Viva isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Viva and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
