How do I contact the shelter about Von Privat Benny?

Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Marburg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Von Privat Benny on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.

Can I adopt Von Privat Benny if I live in another country?

Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Marburg will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.

Is Von Privat Benny already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?

Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.

What happens if Von Privat Benny isn't the right fit?

Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Marburg early rather than rehoming privately; they know Von Privat Benny and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.

Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?

TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.

A male, neutered Rex King's Mantle Rabbit was born in 2020. Not at the animal shelter! Private placement, contact see below! The Cappel Animal Shelter in Marburg does not guarantee private placement ads and ads from other associations. ________________________ Benny is not at the Marburg Animal Shelter, he lives in 68804 Altlußheim Here is the private ad: Due to a short-term and alternative move, Benny urgently needs a new home by August 25, 2026. Despite the greatest efforts, no apartment with dog keeping for the older owners could be found so quickly and even weeks of searching for new owners in the immediate area remained unsuccessful. Benny is 9 years old, a Jack Russell mixed breed male, neutered and vaccinated. He is currently in 68804 Altlußheim. Benny is a loyal and watchful dog who builds a close bond with his people. At the same time, he reacts sensitively to stimuli and noises and shows particularly in the domestic environment protection or resource defense behavior. That's why we are looking for dog-experienced people who can deal with such behaviors. Ideal for Benny would be a quiet household as a single dog and without small children. He has a protein allergy, but currently copes with chicken without problems. Benny is vaccinated; the vaccination passport and of course all other existing documents will be handed over in full. We would also be incredibly grateful for any other interim solution! Benny has so much love to give. About Von Privat Benny

What life with Von Privat Benny looks like

Von Privat Benny is a small senior mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim Marburg in Marburg.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.
