Waffle - in the Mastiff type Status: available for adoption This is a large, impressive dog of the Tibetan Mastiff breed with an elegant red mane, but behind this "lion" physique lies a very sensitive and delicate soul. He is a dog of one caregiver - in the temporary home he has become especially attached to one person and feels safest with them. It sometimes happens that when the caregiver appears in clothes Waffle is not familiar with, the dog can get scared and needs a moment and calm reassurance that it is still the same person. Waffle perfectly keeps the house clean. He regularly goes out to the garden and walks, three times a day, and has never had any accidents. He easily finds his way around the predictable daily routine and clearly values peace and consistency. In relations with other dogs in the temporary home, Waffle has functioned without conflicts from the beginning. He lives in a group with several dogs and gets along very well with them. He can play with younger ones, while with older ones he is not pushy and respects their boundaries. With completely new dogs he can be uncertain - it has happened that when his "pack" disappeared, he would bark at strangers to keep them away. Outside the house, during walks or visits, he tends to withdraw and seeks support from the caregiver. Waffle approaches strange people with great caution. He is afraid of guests in the temporary home - he runs away on the yard and barks, but usually remains motionless inside the house. He allows being touched, but it is clearly stressful for him. During walks he avoids contact with people, hides behind the caregiver and moves close to his legs. When visiting someone else's home, he finds a safe corner from which he observes the situation, allows himself to be touched and bravely waits for the end of the visit. Cats, both those living in the temporary home and strangers, Waffle accepts without any problem. He had contact with children a few times during visits - he was a bit uncertain then, but could lie down next to them, and when it became too loud or chaotic, he chose a quieter place by himself. Waffle can be left alone and does not vocalize, however he has a tendency to destroy, so a kennel crate or a very well secured garden is recommended. He is not barking in the house, stays quiet during walks, but barks at strangers on the yard. On a leash he walks nicely, staying close to the caregiver. If something scares him, he may jump back, but does not panic and does not pull towards home. In stressful situations Waffle does not show aggression - he has never bitten, rather he freezes and waits until the situation passes. Riding in a car is not yet fully tested, the first trip was stressful for him. Waffle is a big, anxious, and stubborn puppy who is still learning the world and needs wise, calm guidance and further socialization. We are looking for a responsible, patient home that will give him time, a sense of security, and be ready to work on his fears. Wafel - w typie Mastifa Status: do adopcji To duży, imponujący pies w typie Mastifa Tybetańskiego z okazałą rudą grzywą, ale za tą „lwią” sylwetką kryje się bardzo wrażliwa i delikatna dusza. Jest psem jednego opiekuna – w domu tymczasowym najmocniej związał się z jedną osobą i przy niej czuje się najbezpieczniej. Zdarza się, że gdy opiekun pojawi się w ubraniach, których Wafel wcześniej nie znał, pies potrafi się przestraszyć i potrzebuje chwili oraz spokojnego zapewnienia, że to nadal ta sama osoba. Wafel wzorowo trzyma czystość w domu. Regularnie wychodzi na ogród i spacery, trzy razy dziennie, i ani razu nie zdarzyła mu się żadna wpadka. Dobrze odnajduje się w przewidywalnej rutynie dnia i wyraźnie ceni spokój oraz stałość. W relacjach z innymi psami w domu tymczasowym Wafel od początku funkcjonuje bezkonfliktowo. Mieszka w stadzie z kilkoma psami i dogaduje się z nimi bardzo dobrze. Z młodszymi potrafi się bawić, wobec starszych jest nienachalny i respektuje ich granice. Wobec zupełnie nowych psów bywa niepewny – zdarzało się, że gdy znikało „jego” stado, straszył obce osobniki, by nie podchodziły. Poza domem, na spacerach czy w gościach, raczej się wycofuje i szuka wsparcia u opiekuna. Do obcych ludzi Wafel podchodzi z dużą ostrożnością. Gości w domu tymczasowym się boi – na ogrodzie ucieka i obszczekuje, natomiast w domu najczęściej zamiera w bezruchu. Pozwala się dotknąć, ale widać, że jest to dla niego stresujące. Na spacerach unika kontaktu z ludźmi, chowa się za opiekuna i porusza się blisko jego nogi. W gościach u kogoś znajduje sobie bezpieczny kącik, z którego obserwuje sytuację, daje się dotknąć i bardzo dzielnie czeka na koniec wizyty. Koty, zarówno te mieszkające w domu tymczasowym, jak i obce, Wafel akceptuje bez problemu. Z dziećmi miał kontakt kilka razy podczas wizyt – był wtedy nieco niepewny, ale potrafił położyć się obok, a gdy robiło się zbyt głośno lub chaotycznie, sam wybierał spokojniejsze miejsce. Wafel potrafi zostać sam i nie wokalizuje, jednak ma skłonności do niszczenia, dlatego rekomendowana jest klatka kennelowa lub bardzo dobrze zabezpieczony ogród. W domu nie jest szczekliwy, na spacerach pozostaje cichy, natomiast na ogrodzie szczeka na obcych. Na smyczy chodzi ładnie, trzymając się blisko opiekuna. Gdy coś go przestraszy, potrafi odskoczyć, ale nie wpada w panikę i nie ciągnie w stronę domu. W sytuacjach stresowych Wafel nie wykazuje agresji – nie zdarzyło się, by kłapnął, raczej zamiera i czeka, aż sytuacja minie. Jazda samochodem nie jest jeszcze w pełni sprawdzona, pierwsza podróż była dla niego stresująca. Wafel to duże, lękowe i uparte dziecko, które wciąż uczy się świata i potrzebuje mądrego, spokojnego prowadzenia oraz dalszej socjalizacji. Szukamy dla niego odpowiedzialnego, cierpliwego domu, który da mu czas, poczucie bezpieczeństwa i będzie gotowy pracować z jego lękami.
