Across many Greek islands, including Lefkas, the stray dog problem is significant, particularly puppy dumping, with or without the mother. Fortunately, there are always very dedicated animal lovers who work every day for these poor animals. For over fifteen years, 'Little Friends Lefkas' has been offering help to animals in need. Ella was left in a box in front of the entrance to the veterinary practice, together with her brother Guy and sisters Dixie and Bonnie. They were 2 months old at the time. The estimated date of birth is 25.11.2025. Ella now (22.6.2026) weighs 24 kilos and stands about 56 centimeters at the shoulder. We think she will end up weighing around 28 kilos. Her parents are unknown, so this is an estimate. Ella is a cheerful little soul. Always happy and very social, she really enjoys meeting new people, especially when she is allowed to come along on a walk. She is super good with (somewhat older) children, though she sometimes still jumps up. Fortunately, she learns very quickly, so she will surely accept it willingly when she is taught what is and isn't allowed. She is also very social with other dogs, and she simply walks past cats. Ella always loves cuddling, and that is her moment. Ella's beautiful gaze will melt your heart, her short-haired multicolored coat is a delight to the eye, and her cheerful character makes her a truly wonderful addition to anyone's life. For her we are looking for a loving home, preferably with a garden, securely fenced, so that she can play happily and be outside. And where Ella can feel at home and safe forever. Of course, here in the Netherlands she will still need to get used to all the new things. For example, the sounds of heavy traffic from (lorry) trucks, fatbikes being new, as well as the doorbell, television, or a striking clock. Op veel Griekse eilanden, zoals ook op Lefkas, is het zwerfhonden probleem groot, met name puppy dumping, met of zonder moeder. Gelukkig zijn er altijd zeer bevlogen dierenliefhebbers die zich dagelijks inzetten voor de arme dieren. Sinds ruim vijftien jaar biedt ‘Little Friends Lefkas’ hulp aan dieren in nood. Ella is samen met haar broertje Guy en zusjes Dixie en Bonnie in een doos achtergelaten voor de ingang van de dierenartspraktijk. Ze waren toen 2 maanden oud. Geschatte geboortedatum is 25.11.2025. Ella weegt nu (22.6.2026) 24 kilo en ze is circa 56 centimeter schouderhoogte. We denken dat ze rondom de 28 kilo zal gaan wegen. De ouders zijn niet bekend dus dit is een inschatting. Ella is een lekker blij ei. Altijd vrolijk en erg sociaal, zo geniet ze echt van het ontmoeten van nieuwe mensen zeker als Ella mee mag gaan wandelen. Ze is super goed met (wat oudere) kinderen maar springt ook nog weleens op. Gelukkig leert ze heel snel en dus ook dit zal ze zeker welwillend oppakken als haar geleerd wordt wat wel of niet mag. Naar andere honden toe is ze ook heel sociaal en ze loopt katten gewoon voorbij. Ella vindt knuffelen altijd heerlijk en dat is dan ook haar moment. Ella's mooie blik laat je smelten, haar kortharige meerkleurige vacht is een lust voor het oog en haar vrolijke karakter maken haar tot een echte fijne toevoeging aan eenieders leven. Voor haar zoeken we een liefdevol thuis het liefst met een tuin, veilig omheind, zodat zij heerlijk kan spelen en buiten kan zijn. En waar Ella zich voor altijd thuis en veilig voelt. Zij zal natuurlijk hier in Nederland nog wel aan alle nieuwe dingen moeten wennen. Zo zijn de geluiden van druk verkeer van (vracht)auto’s, fatbikes nieuw, net als de deurbel, televisie of bijvoorbeeld een slaande klok. De ontdekkingsreis in ons land vraagt natuurlijk tijd en geduld van de adoptant. Wie biedt Ella een liefdevol thuis waar zij voor altijd mag blijven? U zult geen spijt krijgen van dit blije ei.
