Ahum… even my whiskers straight… yes, that’s how I am at my best. Good day, ladies, gentlemen, and everyone with a weakness for extremely attractive dogs. According to fully reliable sources (myself), I belong in the category of “super handsome guys who happen to be dogs.” At DOA, many handsome men have passed by, but believe me… I fit perfectly in that lineup. Unfortunately, I’m not here because I ordered a taxi to success. My previous owner, however, was not so kind to me. Thankfully, I’m now at DOA, where everyone is nice and where I’m ready for my next chapter. A chapter with love, safety, and hopefully a lot of cookies. But let’s talk about my special talent. I can actually open doors. For me, it’s super handy. For my new masters, maybe a bit less so. So here’s my friendly but urgent warning: Lock the doors if you don’t want me to independently decide it’s time for a fresh air. And then… sigh… the kennel incident. You see, everyone has a bad day sometimes. Some eat an entire bag of chips. I… eh… ate my kennel. Or, well, a part of it. The people here didn’t think that was such a great idea, so off to the animal hospital I went. Thankfully, everything turned out okay, but since then, I have strict rules about what is and isn’t allowed in my kennel run. But let’s talk about something more cheerful: playing! Playing is my passion. My calling. My life’s purpose. The ball is my best friend. Letting go? No. Why would I? But if you have a treat, I’ll let it go and sit neatly. After all, I’m not only handsome but also well-mannered. The floss is also great, but I get so enthusiastic about it that my brain goes on vacation. Then I can’t see your hand anymore… just flosflosflosflosflos. And then I might accidentally take your fingers. Not on purpose! That’s why it might be wise not to play with me using a floss. But once all that energy is out, this tough guy turns into a snuggle machine. If you have arms that can pet, then I’m your biggest fan. I’ll stand at the front, chest out, tail up, ready for love.

Ahum… even mijn snorharen recht… ja, zo ben ik op mijn knapst. Goedendag, dames, heren en iedereen met een zwak voor extreem aantrekkelijke honden. Volgens volledig betrouwbare bronnen (ikzelf) hoor ik thuis in de categorie “super knappe gozers, die toevallig ook nog eens een hond zijn”. Bij DOA zijn al heel wat mooie mannen voorbijgekomen, maar geloof me… ik pas perfect in dat rijtje. Helaas ben ik hier niet gekomen omdat ik een taxi naar succes had besteld. Mijn vorige eigenaar was namelijk niet zo lief voor me. Gelukkig zit ik nu bij DOA, waar iedereen wél aardig is en waar ik klaar ben voor mijn volgende hoofdstuk. Een hoofdstuk met liefde, veiligheid en hopelijk een hoop koekjes. Maar goed… laten we het even hebben over mijn speciale talent. Ik kan namelijk deuren openen. Voor mij superhandig. Voor mijn nieuwe baasjes misschien iets minder. Dus hierbij mijn vriendelijke maar dringende waarschuwing: Doe de deuren op slot als je niet wilt dat ik zelfstandig besluit dat het tijd is voor een frisse neus. En dan… zucht… het mand-incident. Kijk, iedereen heeft wel eens een slechte dag. Sommigen eten een hele zak chips leeg. Ik… eh… heb mijn mand opgegeten. Of nou ja, een deel ervan. Dat vonden de mensen hier niet zo’n topactie, dus hup: spoedritje naar het dierenziekenhuis. Gelukkig is alles goed afgelopen, maar sindsdien heb ik strikte regels over wat er wel en niet in mijn kennel mag. Maar laten we het over iets leukers hebben: spelen! Spelen is mijn passie. Mijn roeping. Mijn levensdoel. De bal is mijn beste vriend. Loslaten? Nee. Waarom zou ik? Maar als jij een brokje hebt, dan laat ik hem keurig los en ga ik zelfs netjes zitten. Ik ben tenslotte niet alleen knap, maar ook beleefd. De flos is óók geweldig, maar daar word ik zó enthousiast van dat mijn hersenen even op vakantie gaan. Dan zie ik jouw hand niet meer… alleen flosflosflosflosflos. En dan kan ik per ongeluk je vingers meenemen. Niet expres hoor! Daarom is het misschien verstandig om niet met mij te spelen met een flos. Maar zodra al die energie eruit is, verandert deze stoere vent in een knuffelmachine. Als je armen hebt die kunnen aaien, dan ben ik jouw grootste fan. Ik sta dan vooraan, borst vooruit, staart aan, klaar voor liefde.
