Wanda

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

♀, born ca. 1/2025 social - lovable - active in Spain Wanda is a female mixed breed dog, born around 1/2025, with a shoulder height of approximately 35 cm. Wanda arrived at a farmhouse in a nearby Andalusian village with two other dogs. Unfortunately, Wanda's companions disappeared, so only she could be helped. The help came just in time, because Wanda was pregnant and gave birth to a puppy in the care of a foster home of the local animal shelter. Wanda was most likely abandoned and left to fend for herself. Since then, the sweet dog has been eagerly waiting for a loving and suitable home and a cozy warm dog bed. The cute, active and lovable dog is now looking for her final happiness, dedicated people who have a lot of time for her, challenge and promote her, teach her the basics of dog training with calmness and patience, ideally combined with regular visits to the dog school, and integrate her actively into their daily lives, where Wanda finally experiences security, love and care. Wanda is compatible with dogs of both sexes. She would be happy to be matched with other socially compatible dogs, preferably of similar age and size. Having another dog to look up to would be beneficial and very supportive. A loving home is being sought for Wanda with active people who have a lot of time for her, as well as a desire and joy in activities with her and discover the world together, because she has probably not yet known much and is not a couch potato. A more rural home and environment would be desirable and ideal. Children, cats and/or small animals should not be present in her future home. Wanda is neutered, vaccinated, chipped and tested for Mediterranean diseases. She is located in an animal shelter in Andalusia/Spain. The deposit for Wanda is 580 euros. About Wanda

What life with Wanda looks like

Wanda is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. in Berlin.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Wanda, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Wanda?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Wanda on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Wanda if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Wanda already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Wanda isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Wanda and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
