adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Whitney has found her people! Her story: Bistrita, Romania. Our little Whitney is searching for a family to enchant. Whitney is approximately two months old and was found on the street with her five siblings. Now, like her siblings, the little one is searching for a home. In Whitney sleeps a Labrador mix. Although her sister Whitney Houston enjoyed the spotlight, the little Whitney is still a bit shy and insecure due to the difficult circumstances the little mouse has already experienced in her young age. Once she gains trust in people, however, she will surely be just as star-worthy as her namesake. Now, Whitney is not only searching for the big stage but also for a family that will give her a warm home. The first months of her life were already hard and cold enough, so we would be so happy for Whitney if someone could show her that the world is not as bad as it seems to be for her. Whitney is searching for a family that will patiently teach her the puppy ABCs, as she is still a very young puppy and has a lot to learn. Should a mishap occur, the little mouse wishes for a family that will not hold it against her and will always guide her with a positive reinforcement training style. She dreams of her new life, with many long walks with her new favorite people, many cozy cuddle hours, and a visit to a positively working puppy school to learn a lot of new things with like-minded peers. Whitney travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas with an EU pet passport to her new home. Whitney would also be happy to be placed in a foster home. Whitney is ready for the big stage at home and is already looking forward to meeting you. Would you be Whitney's springboard to happiness? Many thanks, Corinna Z.! You have given Whitney her name.

Vielen Dank Corinna Z.! Du hast Whitney ihren Namen geschenkt.

About Whitney

What life with Whitney looks like

Whitney is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Whitney, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Whitney?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Whitney on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Whitney if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Whitney already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Whitney isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Whitney and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
