Adopt Whoopi

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 9 years

Profile: Born in 2021, Gender: female, neutered: yes, Character: friendly, interested, Size: approx. 49 cm Since in shelter: June 2021, Family: Mother Freya, Siblings Dobby & (Hanna, Flocken, and Flocke – already rehomed) May I introduce myself? I am Whoopi. Look at my beautiful fur pattern! That alone might convince you to give me a chance. But I also have other qualities that I would love to convince you of – I came to the shelter as a small, cute puppy with my mother and my siblings. So many years have passed, and I have still not been discovered by MY people! I haven’t had much opportunity to spend enough time with you to understand how you humans tick. But I did my best and managed to leave my little snail house. I have grown out of it, and that’s good. Because now I finally realize what I have missed by hiding away. Who will give me a chance? Please contact us if you would like to know more about me. If you are interested in Whoopi, please fill out our interest form or send us an email or message on Facebook. Whoopi is ready to travel and can travel to Germany with the next transport. Our dogs travel legally with Traces. Traces refers to the database system that monitors the entire animal transport within the EU. The dogs travel vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed, and have an EU passport. Additionally, for dogs over 12 months old, a rapid test for the following Mediterranean diseases is conducted before travel arrangements: Lyme disease, Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichiosis, Dirofilariasis, and leishmaniasis. Many thanks on behalf of the dogs!

About Whoopi

What life with Whoopi looks like

Whoopi is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at Seelen für Seelchen e.V. in Alfter.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Whoopi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Whoopi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Seelen für Seelchen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Whoopi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Whoopi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Seelen für Seelchen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Whoopi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Whoopi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Seelen für Seelchen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Whoopi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
