Adopt Willi I

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 10 years

Profile: Born in 2011, Gender: male, neutered: yes, Character: friendly, reserved, very interested, Size: approx. 48 cm, In shelter since: April 2020, Special: due to Willis high age, we urgently seek a home (emergency shelter) This gentleman with the sad look is Willis. In the first years of his life, he spent his time on the streets of Romania. He is a bit more reserved than the other dogs in his enclosure. While the others push forward and jump around, Willis tends to hold back and let them go first. However, he is not at all afraid, but simply not a dog that must always be in the center of attention. Unfortunately, Willis, as a more laid-back companion, has gained more weight in the shelter. He lacks the movement. But unfortunately, he also lacks the motivation to move. Why should he joyfully jump around? Willis needs a renewed sense of joy in life. Could a family that offers him love and stability be the answer? Absolutely! Willis needs people who can show him how wonderful life can be. He must not spend more years of his life waiting! If you are interested in Willis, please write us an email or message us on Facebook. Willis is ready to travel and can travel to Germany with the next transport. Our dogs travel legally with Traces. Traces refers to the database system that monitors the entire animal transport within the EU. The dogs travel vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and dewormed, and have an EU passport. Additionally, a rapid test for Mediterranean diseases is conducted before travel arrangements: Borreliosis, Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichiosis, leishmaniasis, and Dirofilariasis. Brigitte I. has taken on the sponsorship for Willis and thus ensures a full plate. Many thanks on behalf of the dogs!

About Willi I

What life with Willi I looks like

Willi I is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at Seelen für Seelchen e.V. in Alfter.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Willi I, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Willi I?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Seelen für Seelchen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Willi I on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Willi I if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Seelen für Seelchen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Willi I already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Willi I isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Seelen für Seelchen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Willi I and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
