The basics Age: 2 Gender: Female Energy Level: Low/Medium Weight: 12 kg Meet Willow! Willow was found as a stray, blind, battling a severe ear infection, suffering from terribly rotten teeth with exposed roots, and covered in ticks and fleas, with wounds on the tips of her ears too — a clear indication of an infection from leishmaniasis… How did she find the strength to keep going? Since being rescued at the beginning of the year, she has come a long way. Thanks to treatment for leishmaniasis and tick infection she can now see from one eye — only very little from her right eye (light or darkness), but much better from her left. She is on a strict schedule of eye drops and creams which are rather expensive. Her eye meds only can cost around £80 per month. Very fearful and timid to start with, Willow has made some huge steps forward. She is still wary of new people and unfamiliar surroundings, thriving on consistency, routine, and the deep trust she has built in her foster home. Because of her sensitive nature, we feel that moving her at this stage would be detrimental to her well-being and set back her progress. For now, Willow is remaining in her dedicated foster home where she feels safe and secure.
