adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! A cloud on four feet appealing? Here is Wooly. There he stood… all alone in front of one of our shelters, begging for help. Our Romanian team welcomed him with open arms, and now he is searching for his own home. Unfortunately, we know nothing about his past; after all, his future is what matters now. Wooly is approximately 3.5 years old and a large male dog with a shoulder height of at least 70 cm. We assume that Wooly carries herding instinct genes. Therefore, the living conditions in his new home must be suitable, and his new family should be familiar with the special characteristics of such a dog or even have experience with them. Positive dog training classes would certainly be enjoyable for him. Our cuddly prince is very friendly and looks forward to every bit of attention, every treat, and every pat. He is still so young, and we hope he does not have to spend his youth behind bars… A nice garden or exciting adventures are exactly what our Wooly is looking for and deserves. Although we do not know what his previous life was like, we want to shape his future now, far from the street and loneliness. We wish for a loving family that will now share a life with our treasure. A foster home would also make Wooly very happy. Unfortunately, Wooly is currently not compatible with his fellow animals. This could be due to stress in the shelter, and with some work, it might improve in his forever home. Wooly travels neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas, and of course, he brings his EU pet passport. Have you fallen in love with our fluffy Wooly, as we have? Thank you, Robert P., for supporting Wooly with a monthly sponsorship and accompanying him on his journey! We also thank Iris A. for her monthly sponsorship, which also supports Wooly! As of: 21.12.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 21.12.2024

About Wooly

What life with Wooly looks like

Wooly is a extra-large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Wooly, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Wooly?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Wooly on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Wooly if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Wooly already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Wooly isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Wooly and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
