Xusa &#8211

Mixed Breed · Female

Xusa now lives in 58644 Iserlohn. Good luck, Xusa. Heartfelt thanks, Mrs. H. Xusa is a beautiful Pointer girl, just one year old (as of January 2025) and an incredibly charming being. Our cheerful princess was discovered in the countryside by a young man who loved animals in the summer of 2024. Unfortunately, Xusa’s friend could not take her in, but he fed her every day and made sure she always had fresh water. In August, the animal welfare workers from ArcoNatura learned about Xusa, and the clingy little spratlet could move into the care of the animal shelter. As seen in the photos, Xusa had a nictitating membrane prolapse, commonly known as a “cherry eye.” With a small operation, this was corrected, and today Xusa has no problems with her eye. It is also not to be feared that any aftereffects will occur – in the worst case, the eye may be a bit dry and occasionally needs a small treatment with (very affordable) eye drops. But so far, this has been unnecessary. Xusa is a charming girl who stands out primarily through her friendliness. Although she is in the middle of puberty, Xusa has no plans to take over the world. She is eager to learn and clingy, gets along with her four-legged roommates, and also delights the animal welfare workers with her friendly nature. Xusa is a Pointer, a hunting dog, and she wants to work. This does not mean that she must be trained for hunting, but she needs a home where her bright mind is just as challenged and nurtured as her muscular body. Field work, long sniffing excursions, intelligence games, or Dog Dance, agility, and cuddling on the couch – Xusa is open to everything that promises fun and what she can share with her favorite people. If you are active and humorous, enjoy being outdoors, know how to creatively pamper a young lady, and understand a lot about cuddling and snuggling, then we would be delighted to hear from you – because Xusa is YOUR dog!

DE·Show original

Xusa lebt jetzt in 58644 Iserlohn. Alles Gute, Xusa.

About Xusa &#8211

What life with Xusa &#8211 looks like

Xusa &#8211 is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. in Gernsbach.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Xusa &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Xusa &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Xusa &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Xusa &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Xusa &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Xusa &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Xusa &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
