Yumi und Yuri

Bengal · Male · Kitten · 2 months

Hello everyone, we’re Yumi and Yuri, and we’re looking for a loving home with people who enjoy active and playful cats. Our start in life was anything but easy. Together with our mom and our siblings, we were found in a garden—just a few days old at the time. We little ones had all gotten tangled up in our umbilical cords, leaving us in critical condition. At the veterinary clinic, they managed to help us both, though Yumi unfortunately lost one of her paws. Unfortunately, by the time help arrived for our two siblings, it was already too late. Thankfully, we’ve recovered well from these hardships and are growing steadily. Now, all we need is a wonderful home with caring people. At our foster home, we’re playful, curious, and full of energy. Yuri, in particular, is already showing that he’s very much the breed typical cat—he loves to experience new things and really doesn’t like to get bored. Yumi is doing great with just three legs. When Yumi gets older—certainly by the time she’s spayed—we’ll need to have a small portion of her remaining leg amputated, as fluid has been accumulating in her paw lately, which could lead to problems. Of course, the shelter will cover the costs of this surgery. Still, you should be aware that post-surgical care and recovery will require time and attention. We’re looking for a home where we can live indoors. Your apartment or flat should be spacious enough and offer plenty of climbing and scratching opportunities. A balcony or similar space should definitely be available for us. Of course, both your balcony and your windows must be securely screened to prevent us from escaping or falling out. Do you know that Bengal cats can be more demanding than some other breeds—and yet you’re still up to the challenge? If so, feel free to get in touch and tell us a bit about yourself and what you can offer us in your application. See you soon, Yumi & Yuri

About Yumi und Yuri

What life with Yumi und Yuri looks like

Yumi und Yuri is a puppy/kitten bengal cat waiting at Tierheim Stuttgart in Stuttgart.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Yumi und Yuri, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Yumi und Yuri?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Stuttgart handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Yumi und Yuri on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Yumi und Yuri if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Stuttgart will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Yumi und Yuri already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Yumi und Yuri isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Stuttgart early rather than rehoming privately; they know Yumi und Yuri and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
