Zeina

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Meet Zeina: Home-trained, gentle and pure gold The sad story of little Zeina and her brother Zein touches everyone. Unfortunately, the chances of a rehoming for them in Romania are very low, which is why our foundation has been called in to find a warm and safe home for this little treasure. Zeina is a young girl of just over two years old with a lovely compact, small size. Because she previously had a owner, she is already completely accustomed to life in a house. After this hectic and sad period, she is eager to pack her bags and quickly fly to a place where she will be loved forever again. Thanks to her past as a real house dog, Zeina has already received a fantastic foundation. She knows the domestic cosiness inside out and is a great, easy companion: Already used to being in a house: Zeina knows the habits of life in a household and will therefore quickly feel at home. Gentle & Loving: She is an incredibly gentle, affectionate and compliant girl who really enjoys attention and cuddles. Social with dogs & children: Zeina gets along very well with other dogs and is also incredibly sweet in dealing with children. With her fine, cooperative character and her social nature, Zeina is an absolute enrichment for any loving family.

About Zeina

What life with Zeina looks like

Zeina is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Stichting Lucky Dogs Rescue in Meppel (NL-wide).

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zeina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zeina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Stichting Lucky Dogs Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zeina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zeina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Stichting Lucky Dogs Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Zeina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zeina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Stichting Lucky Dogs Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zeina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
