Zeynep

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Our Zeynep was found alone on the street in a miserable condition. Of course, there was no delay, and she was taken in and given basic care. She recovered quickly – but the scars on her soul need more than medicine. She needs our warmth, our closeness, our love – now! Zeynep is approximately 8.5 years old, weighs around 35 kg, and has a shoulder height of about 61 cm. She was simply abandoned – like many older dogs in Romania who suddenly become “no longer useful.” She is simply wonderful! When she came into our care, she was shy and full of fear. One could sense: This being has barely experienced any good so far. But Zeynep is smart and sensitive. She has understood: Here she is safe. Here she may trust. Today she opens her heart and gives every person a deep affection. When someone strokes her, they feel: In this dog lies infinite love. Zeynep is beautiful – a light, short-haired mixed breed with a striking dark head and small spots on her snout, which make her face so lovable. And yes, she can smile! Her photos show how much she enjoys when she receives attention. Despite her prior experiences, she is very compatible with other dogs. She likely carries the genes of a herding dog – loyal, gentle, and kind. She is not overly active, but she will surely enjoy relaxed walks and small adventures. A home with a garden, in a rural location, would be her paradise. She still needs to learn house rules – with patience and love, this will succeed. Zeynep cannot travel to Switzerland due to her shortened tail. A foster home would be a very important step for her. Many thanks, Martina K., for taking on her namesship. As of April 28. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 28.04.2026

About Zeynep

What life with Zeynep looks like

Zeynep is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zeynep, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zeynep?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zeynep on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zeynep if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Zeynep already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zeynep isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zeynep and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
