adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Zodi has finally found his home! His story: Two years. For two endless years, the friendly Zodi has been behind bars. Two years of cold concrete, without a warm bed, without closeness, without the feeling of belonging somewhere. Two years where every day was the same—gray walls, icy Romanian winters, suffocating hot summers, the barking of despondent dogs around him. And slowly, Zodi begins to believe that this is his fate. Yet, he has not lost his kindness and good nature. Those who look into his beautiful, amber eyes see not a broken dog but a flicker of hope still burning. "I don't want to spend the rest of my life here!" his eyes say. Day by day, Zodi hopes that someone out there will finally see him. Someone who falls in love with the heartwarming dog with his extraordinary tricolor fur. For Zodi is beautiful, without a doubt. A dog who immediately catches the eye. But his beauty lies most in his gentleness and his gratitude for even the smallest affection. It is so beautiful—but also so heart-wrenching, how he snuggles lovingly when stroked. He just wants to give and receive so much more love. Zodi is about six years old and 60 cm tall. He is still unfamiliar with life in a house and doesn't know how to walk on a leash or what a dog bed is. But with loving guidance, he will surely learn quickly. He gets along well with other dogs, but he is still unfamiliar with cats. We sincerely wish for Zodi that he does not have to grow old in the shelter. We are looking for someone who will give him the love he deserves and has been missing his entire life. Someone who is willing to give him time and the warmth he has never known. Someone who will show him that his life can finally begin after two long years in the shelter. Maybe you are exactly this person? Zodi travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated with an EU pet passport to his new life. He thanks Marita R. for giving Zodi his beautiful name and taking on a monthly sponsorship. As of: 10.12.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 10.12.2025

About Zodi

What life with Zodi looks like

Zodi is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zodi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zodi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zodi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zodi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Zodi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zodi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zodi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
