Wir haben Boots Mutter mehrere Monate lang im Zentrum von Rudozem gefüttert. Es war offensichtlich, dass sie Welpen erwartete und nach einer Weile wurde klar, dass sie Welpen geboren hatte. Die Hündin war vor Menschen erschrocken und egal wie sehr wir es versuchten, konnten wir ihr nie vertrauen und sie hielt ihre Welpen versteckt. Schließlich begannen die Welpen, ihr in das Zentrum zu folgen und wurden von ihr getrennt. Sie liefen auf den Straßen herum, verloren und ängstlich. Wir hatten keine andere Wahl, als sie zu fangen und sie sicher ins Tierheim zu bringen. Boots Geschwister wurden alle letztendlich adoptiert, aber Bootle nicht. Sie ist immer noch vorsichtig mit Menschen, die sie nicht kennt und es dauert sehr lange, bis sie dich akzeptiert und vertraut, aber sobald sie es tut, ist es sehr belohnend.

We had been feeding Bootles mother for several months in the center of Rudozem. It was obvious she was expecting puppies and after a while it became apparent that she had given birth. The mother dog was petrified of humans and no matter how much we tried, we never managed to gain her trust and she kept her babies hidden. Eventually the puppies started following her into the centre and became separated from her. They were running about in the roads, lost and scared. We had no choice but to catch them and get them safely to the shelter. Bootles siblings were all eventually adopted but Bootle never was. She is still wary of people she doesn't know and it takes a very long time for her to accept and trust you but once she does it is so rewarding.
