Ο Βίλι ανακουφίστηκε από ένα δημόσιο φιλανθρωπικό κέντρο στη Ρουμανία. Αυτά τα κέντρα είναι πολύ υπερφορτωμένα και μικρά σκυλιά όπως ο Βίλι είναι τα πιο πιθανά να επιτεθούν, πολλά σκυλιά δεν επιβιώνουν από αυτές τις επιθέσεις και έτσι ο Βίλι ήταν ένας τυχερός κούκος που βγήκε. Μόλις έφτασε στο Oakwood, παρατηρήσαμε ότι ο Βίλι δεν είχε πλήρη βάρος στον αριστερό του πόδι. Τον έβαλαν σε πόνο φάρμακα και αποχή στο κλειστό αλλά όταν αυτό δεν λειτούργησε, τον έστειλαν αμέσως από ακτινογραφίες. Δυστυχώς, ο Βίλι έχει πολλά προβλήματα στα πόδια του που θα χρειαστούν χειρουργική παρέμβαση. Το πίσω δεξί πόδι του: Έχει λυγισμένο ισχίο βαθμό 2 Το αριστερό πόδι: Έχει λυγισμένο ισχίο βαθμό 3/4. Έχει επίσης ένα παλιό θραύσμα που έχει γίνει πλήρως ανομοιόμορφα σε αυτό το πόδι, μπορείς να αισθανθείς το οστό σχεδόν να κοιτάζει μέσα από το δέρμα του, ακόμη και με την πιο ελαφριά αγάπη. Για να γίνει ακόμα πιο δύσκολη η χειρουργική επέμβαση, το θραύσμα έχει γίνει τόσο ανομοιόμορφα που άφησε το Βίλι με ένα πόδι 2 ίντσες πιο μικρό από το άλλο. Τα ισχία του είναι επίσης σε γωνία περιστροφής 20% που δεν επηρεάζει την καθημερινή ζωή του Βίλι, αλλά θα επηρεάσει τη δυσκολία της χειρουργικής επέμβασης, και επομένως βρισκόμαστε τώρα σε συζητήσεις με ειδικούς για το τι το καλύτερο σχέδιο δράσης θα είναι. Θα θέλαμε ιδανικά να βρούμε ένα σπίτι για το Βίλι ως "φροντιστής με ιδέα αδολεσκότητας". Όλες οι χειρουργικές επεμβάσεις που αφορούν αυτά τα προβλήματα θα πληρωθούν από τη Oakwood Dog Rescue. Ο Βίλι έχει δείξει ότι καταφέρνει καλά με όλα τα σκυλιά που μείξαμε μαζί του μέχρι τώρα. Είναι λίγο πολύ πολύ έξυπνος με τις κοπέλες και θα προσπαθήσει να τις καθηλώσει. Αν δεν το επιτρέψουν, θα σταθεί και θα φωνάξει σε αυτές :/ Λόγω των προσεχόμενων χειρουργικών επεμβάσεων, νομίζουμε ότι θα είναι καλύτερο για το Βίλι να είναι σε σπίτι χωρίς άλλα διαμένοντα σκυλιά. Ο Βίλι ήταν πολύ υπομονετικός με το γάτο κατά τη δοκιμή, δεν έδειξε θηραματικό θέλημα. Ο Βίλι έχει δείξει να είναι ένα ενεργό μικρό σκυλί, παρόλα αυτά όταν προσφέρονται παραμονές, γρήγορα αποσπάται. Ο Βίλι δεν έχει ζήσει ποτέ σε σπίτι, οπότε θα χρειαστεί να του αφήσουμε όσο το δυνατόν λιγότερο ενώ τακτοποιείται και μαθαίνει τις ρουτίνες. Λόγω των προβλημάτων στα πόδια του, δεν έχουμε ξεκινήσει ακόμα την εκπαίδευση με τον Βίλι. Ο Βίλι δεν έχει καμία μορφή βασικής εκπαίδευσης

Billi was rescued from a public shelter in Romania. These shelters are severely over capacity and small dogs like Billi are the most likely to be attacked, a lot of dogs don't survive these attacks and so Billi was such a lucky boy to get out. Upon arriving at Oakwood, we noticed Billi was not fully weight bearing on his BL leg. We put him on pain meds and kennels rest but when this wasn't working, we sent him straight from X-rays. Unfortunately, it was found that Billi's hind left leg had luxating patella grade 3/4. He also had an old break that has healed so abnormally that you could feel the bone almost protruding through his skin, even with the gentlest touch. After many discussions with different specialists, it was decided that the best plan of action was to amputate the left hind leg. Billi has now had this surgery and is in recovery. He is doing amazingly well and seems so much happier without the constant pain that he must've been in. His hind right leg does also have milder luxating patella . When speaking with the vet regarding this, the answer was 50/50 as to whether he will be absolutely fine living with this with no further medical intervention and it seems to be causing him absolutely no issues at this time however, there is always the possibility later in life that the luxating patella could get worse and he could need anything from pain management to possible surgical intervention. The vet advised there was just no way of knowing but at this time, Billi is a very happy and heatlhy boy and has now been signed off from veterinary care regarding his legs. We understand that this can all sound very scary to a potentail adopter but after surviving all of the above, Billy is the most loving, cuddly and happy boy that loves every minute of his lift and he deserves the chance of a loving, forever home as much as any of the others, we really hope that people can see past his missing leg and love him for the sweet boy that he is. Billi has shown to do well with all the dogs that we have mixed him with so far. He does get a little too excited with the girls and will try to hump them. If they don't allow it, he will stand and bark at them :/ We'd consider Billy being adopted into a home with another / other dogs based on the right match however, we believe he'd also be absolutely fine as an only dog. Billi was very gently with the cat upon testing, he showed no prey drive. Billi has shown to be an active little dog although he's soon distracted when snuggles are offered. Billi has been lucky enough to spend a few weeks in foster with one of our staff members and we believe in a new home, he'd be fine to be left up to 4-5 hours Billi has been doing great with his lead training although he has started to show signs of slight dog reactivity which is currently being worked on Billi has no form of basic training althought he's done great with his toilet training. It's likely that's he'll have accidents in his new home but with consistency and patience, he has shown that he can very quickly pick up toilet training in a home
