Billi został uratowany z publicznego schroniska w Rumunii. Te schroniska są bardzo obciążone i małe psy takie jak Billi najbardziej podatne na ataki, wiele psów nie przeżywa tych ataków i dlatego Billi był szczęśliwym chłopcem, który wyrwał się. Po przyjeździe do Oakwood zauważyliśmy, że Billi nie opiera się całkowicie na lewej nodze. Postawiliśmy go na leczeniu przeciwbólowym i spoczynku w klatce, ale gdy to nie działało, natychmiast skierowaliśmy go na zdjęcia rtg. Niestety, Billi ma kilka problemów z nogami, które wymagają interwencji chirurgicznej. Jego tylna prawa noga: ma luxację półki 2 stopnia. Jego lewa noga: ma luxację półki 3/4. Ma również stary złamania, które w pełni niepoprawnie się zrosło w tej nodze, możesz poczuć kość prawie wystającą przez skórę, nawet przy najdelikatniejszym dotyku. Aby zabieg był jeszcze trudniejszy, złamanie zrosło się tak nieprawidłowo, że powoduje, że noga Billiego jest o 5 cm krótsza niż druga. Jego biodra mają również kąt obrotu 20%, który nie wpływa na codzienne życie Billiego, ale wpłynie na trudność zabiegu, więc aktualnie prowadzimy dyskusje ze specjalistami co do najlepszego planu działania. Chcielibyśmy idealnie znaleźć dla Billiego dom z "opieką z perspektywą adopcji". Wszystkie zabiegi dotyczące tych problemów zostaną zapłacone przez Oakwood Dog Rescue. Billi dobrze się sprawił z wszystkimi psami, z którymi został połączony. Zdarza mu się czasem być zbyt zachwycony dziewczynami i spróbować ich kopnąć. Jeśli nie dopuszczają tego, stanie i załaja na nie :/ Ze względu na potrzebne zabiegi, myślimy, że będzie najlepiej dla Billiego, aby mieszkał w domu bez innych psów. Billi był bardzo delikatny wobec kota w czasie testów, nie wykazywał żadnego instynktu polowania. Billi okazał się aktywnym małym psem, choć szybko odwraca uwagę, gdy oferuje się mu objetie. Billi nigdy wcześniej nie żył w domu, więc będzie potrzebował zostawiania jak najmniej, gdy się oswoi i pozna zasady. Ze względu na problemy z nogami, jeszcze nie zaczęliśmy szlaku treningowego z Billiem. Billi nie ma żadnego podstawowego szkolenia

Billi was rescued from a public shelter in Romania. These shelters are severely over capacity and small dogs like Billi are the most likely to be attacked, a lot of dogs don't survive these attacks and so Billi was such a lucky boy to get out. Upon arriving at Oakwood, we noticed Billi was not fully weight bearing on his BL leg. We put him on pain meds and kennels rest but when this wasn't working, we sent him straight from X-rays. Unfortunately, it was found that Billi's hind left leg had luxating patella grade 3/4. He also had an old break that has healed so abnormally that you could feel the bone almost protruding through his skin, even with the gentlest touch. After many discussions with different specialists, it was decided that the best plan of action was to amputate the left hind leg. Billi has now had this surgery and is in recovery. He is doing amazingly well and seems so much happier without the constant pain that he must've been in. His hind right leg does also have milder luxating patella . When speaking with the vet regarding this, the answer was 50/50 as to whether he will be absolutely fine living with this with no further medical intervention and it seems to be causing him absolutely no issues at this time however, there is always the possibility later in life that the luxating patella could get worse and he could need anything from pain management to possible surgical intervention. The vet advised there was just no way of knowing but at this time, Billi is a very happy and heatlhy boy and has now been signed off from veterinary care regarding his legs. We understand that this can all sound very scary to a potentail adopter but after surviving all of the above, Billy is the most loving, cuddly and happy boy that loves every minute of his lift and he deserves the chance of a loving, forever home as much as any of the others, we really hope that people can see past his missing leg and love him for the sweet boy that he is. Billi has shown to do well with all the dogs that we have mixed him with so far. He does get a little too excited with the girls and will try to hump them. If they don't allow it, he will stand and bark at them :/ We'd consider Billy being adopted into a home with another / other dogs based on the right match however, we believe he'd also be absolutely fine as an only dog. Billi was very gently with the cat upon testing, he showed no prey drive. Billi has shown to be an active little dog although he's soon distracted when snuggles are offered. Billi has been lucky enough to spend a few weeks in foster with one of our staff members and we believe in a new home, he'd be fine to be left up to 4-5 hours Billi has been doing great with his lead training although he has started to show signs of slight dog reactivity which is currently being worked on Billi has no form of basic training althought he's done great with his toilet training. It's likely that's he'll have accidents in his new home but with consistency and patience, he has shown that he can very quickly pick up toilet training in a home
